Supports Administration TM-1865
The following lists the parameters that have been preset. The plate length (PLEN), plate width (PWID) and
plate thickness (PTHK) will be obtained from the identified base plate. All other design parameters are set to
0 (zero) as shown in the form displayed above.
Design parameters 1, 2 and 3 have been declared as user editable (with an allowable range of 0 to 1000) and
default values have been added as shown.
Point Sets
These have been created with the minimum points required by AVEVA E3D™ Supports. These are:
P-Point Description
1 Arrive Point
2 Leave Point
3 Bottom of Pipe (BOP) -5mm, i.e. bottom of the ancillary geometry -5mm
10 Left of Pipe
11 Right of Pipe
12 BOP
The diagram below shows the position and directions of the p-points, P1 and P2 are arriving and leave points
along the centreline of the pipe.
The AVEVA E3D™ Supports default p-points provided cannot be deleted or modified, but additional
ppoints can be created if required.
Data Sets
These have been created with the minimum number of elements required by AVEVA E3D™ Supports. These
are:
Where /Prefix is /Standard-DATA- e.g. /AT500-DATA-DESC and the standard used as an example above is
AT500.
The catalogue items for the user defined ancillaries have been created in the ranges detailed below within the
MDU/CATA database in AVEVA Sample project (APS). This database contains all the catalogue elements,
i.e. SCOM, GMSE, PTSE, DTSE and SDTE, where the user will modify the GMSE to suit their requirements.
The specification components for ALL the user defined ancillaries are in the /MDS specification in the AVEVA
E3D™ Supports project, which MUST NOT be modified by users.

The MDU/CATA catalogue hierarchy has been created as shown on the previous page for a size range of
8mm (1/4") to 1200mm (48") in the bore sizes shown below:
The administrator uses the standard PARAGON Pipework Application to modify the required elements within
the MDU catalogue database, i.e. MDU/CATA
Within the MDU/CATA database, the following should not be deleted or modified (including name change):
Although the MDU/CATA default p-points provided cannot be deleted or modified, additional p-points
can be created. Also, geometry can be added to the geometry sets, and additional properties included
as necessary.
Some basic Piping Cats and Specs knowledge is assumed during this example.
