3-Month Detailed Physics Study Plan for MHT-CET (Maharashtra Board)

This study plan is designed for MHT-CET aspirants to systematically prepare for the Physics
section over 3 months. It emphasizes conceptual clarity, problem-solving skills, and timed
practice.

Month 1: Concept Building

Goal: Build a strong foundation by thoroughly studying the chapters and solving basic
numericals. Focus on understanding concepts and practicing MCQs.

Week 1
 - Kinematics: Scalars and Vectors, Equations of Motion, Projectile Motion, Relative
Velocity.
 - Laws of Motion: Newton's Laws, Friction, Circular Motion.
 - Work, Energy, and Power: Work-Energy Theorem, Kinetic and Potential Energy,
Power, Collisions.
 - Gravitation: Universal Law of Gravitation, Gravitational Potential Energy, Escape
Velocity, Satellites.

Week 2
 - Properties of Matter: Elasticity, Surface Tension, Viscosity.
 - Heat and Thermodynamics: Thermal Expansion, Specific Heat, Heat Transfer
(Conduction, Convection, Radiation).
 - Oscillations: Simple Harmonic Motion (SHM), Damped and Forced Oscillations,
Resonance.
 - Waves: Types of Waves, Wave Equation, Sound Waves, Doppler Effect.

Week 3

Wheatstone Bridge.
 - Magnetic Effects of Current: Biot-Savart Law, Ampere’s Circuital Law, Force on a
Moving Charge in a Magnetic Field.
 - Magnetism: Properties of Bar Magnet, Earth’s Magnetism, Magnetic Hysteresis.

Week 4
 - Optics (Ray and Wave): Reflection and Refraction, Lenses, Dispersion, Diffraction,
Polarization.
 - Dual Nature of Radiation: Photoelectric Effect, de Broglie Hypothesis.
 - Atoms and Nuclei: Bohr’s Model, Radioactivity, Nuclear Reactions.

Month 2: Intensive Practice

Goal: Focus on solving numerical problems and strengthening application-based
understanding. Revise previously learned topics and practice MCQs extensively.
Week 1
 - Mechanics: Advanced numerical problems on Kinematics, Laws of Motion, and Work-
Energy-Power.
 - Gravitation: Problems involving satellites and orbits.

Week 2
 - Thermodynamics: First and Second Laws, Carnot Cycle, Heat Engines.
 - Properties of Matter: Problems on Viscosity and Elasticity.

Week 3

moving charges.
 - Optics: Lens combinations, Optical Instruments, and Wave Optics.

Week 4
 - Modern Physics: Dual Nature of Radiation, Quantum Numbers, Nuclear Physics.
 - Waves and Oscillations: Problems on Doppler Effect and SHM.

Tasks: Solve 50+ MCQs daily, attempt topic-specific timed tests, and revise weak areas.

Month 3: Revision and Mock Tests

Goal: Full syllabus revision with maximum mock test practice to improve speed and
accuracy.

Week 1
