Script

9th Semester
[Sexual harassment at workplace – Men]
Opening (Harsh):
As we all know, sexual harassment of women at workplace is very common, but have you ever heard that
men is also being harassed that too in workplace by women. So we the students of 9th semester, thorough
this drama will try to convey this social message. Now let’s begin the drama.
[Scene 1: Welcome party of a Company for joining of the CEO. A Departmental Manager is
requesting her to come up on the stage. The Manager and the Assistant is standing on the stage with a
Flower Bouquet]
Manager: I request our new CEO, Miss Shree Roy to come up on the stage to receive a token of love from
us. Debjit Samanta, your Personal Assistant madam, will give the flower to you. Debjit madam ke fuler
Bouquet ta dao. Please ekta jore hat tali Madam er jonno.
[CEO stands up from the audience and walks to the stage and while getting up on the stage She pretends to
fall down and Assistant holds her up but she touches him badly. The Assistant feeling uncomfortable, gave
the flower to her and gets down from the stage]
Manager: Madam amader jonno kichu bolun please.
[She extends her hand to take the Microphone and touches his hand badly and she talks She pretends to fall
down]
CEO: Amar Matha ta …
[She touches his arm and presses them also careses his cheeks when he holds him properly]
Manager: Madam please stage theke namun. Erokom korben na… Hawar tolai bosun.
[They gets down the stage, lights turned off, scene 1 ends]

[Scene 2: Two bench on the stage, The Manager is sitting on one of the bench lost in his own thoughts,
his friend, Pritam walks in while talking on the phone and Sits beside him]
Pritam: Indrani on the way. Ki re erokom mukh jhuliye bose keno ajke toder tw company te welcome party
chilo ki holo hotat? Preme cheka? Reject kore diyeche tw keu toke? Abar abar bolechi na prem e poris na
direct biye kore ne.
Rahul: Sobsomoi ki boltw yarki ta bhalo lage na.
Pritam: Ki hoyeche bhai bol amai.
Rahul: Welcome party bolli na. The new CEO, Madam, odbhut janis. Emon bhabe touch korlo kirokom
weird feel holo. I felt uncomfortable. Ekta CEO kokhono first din e ese employee der touch kore?
Pritam: Tui ki boltw single theke theke kemon dadu dadu hoye gechis. Ekta meye toke touch korche eta tw
bhalo kotha. CEO hok ki jai hok--
[The Assistant was walking with his office bag and hearing CEO he runs to him]
Debjit: Rahul da, CEO madam kotha bolcho amake bachao onar haat theke… ami onar under e kaj korte
parbo na… ajke jebhabe… amar bou bari theke ber kore debe jante parle… amar haat tipche jano ei bhabe?
Rahul: (Standing up excitedly) DEKHLI! Ami eka na bhai… Debjit oo feel koreche…
[A girl walks into their conversation]
Indrani: Ke abar ki feel kore felchis ree…
Pritam: Oi company er CEO er touch era keu nite parche na… Touching tooching ta ektu jordar hoye geche
(he laughs)
Rahul: Arey tui chup kor. Indrani ke Bapar ta jante de. Ekta meye touch korche bolei je amai seta upobhog
korte hobe tar kono mane nei.
Indrani: Hmm… bapar ta khub e serious… thik ache chol bisoi ta niye ektu alochona kora jak. Bisu da amar
cha ta...
[The lights turned off, they gets down from the stage. Scene 2 ends]

[Scene 3: one table and one chair. CEO is working on some papers. She calls the Assistant and he walks
inside with some papers]
CEO: Debjit… Debjit please come… Debjit?
Assistant: Haan madam ei je ei paper ta sign kore dile…
CEO: Yes (She touches him badly and takes the paper from him but she purposefully drops it on the ground
She laughs) Pick it up Debjit
[He bends down to pick the papers up and she touches his head and back he stands up angrily]
Assistant: Madam erokom kore touch korben na please era ki korchen apni?
CEO: Oh you don’t know what I want from you? Ami tw tomar raat e text e pathiyechilam ki chai ami?
Assistant: Madam ami aschi (He gets out from the room angrily)
CEO: Ki neka re baba… Ektu touch e tw korechi… They Don’t know who I am! By the way… Rahul
kothai? Rahul? Come here for a moment Rahuull…
Manager: Haan Madam ei project ta ektu sanction kore din.
CEO: Ami tomar sobkichu sanction kore debo Sob sob.
[She pulls him by his tie near her and touches his cheeks]
[Debjit runs inside with Indrani, Avinash and two Lady police Constable]
SI Avinash: Miss Shree Roy? Apnar biruddhe FIR lodge kora hoyeche… You are under arrest for sexual
harassment at workplace.
CEO: (Stands up) ami? Ami ki korlam. Officer?
Indrani: Bohudin dhore tomar kotha kane eseche. Kono cheleder hoye Act nei bole tumi setar misuse
korcho.
SI Avinash: Apnake kichu korte hobe na madam amra arrest korchi apnake.Ei tomra enake thanai niye
cholo.
CEO: I will contact my Advocate regarding this!
[The lady Constables holds her hand and pulls her out of the stage. Scene 3 ends]

[Scene 4: A table and chair for the judge, two chair on both side of the stage two advocates walks in and
sits]
[The judge is getting up on the stage and Sits on the chair]
Adv Damayanti: My lord I’m representing the petitioner.
Adv Mrinmoyee Basu: My lord I’m representing all of the respondents.
Adv Damayanti:
Adv Mrinmoyee Basu: The state most respectfully stated before lordship that with the growth of social
needs and economic infrastructure or with the adversement of society the need of the society radically
changed but the legal scenario has remained unchanged. The sexual harassment law is a big example to
illustrate my point. It only protects the woman and excludes the men and discriminate as well. Men can also
become victim of sexual harassment but your lordship due to inadequacy in the existing legal system they do
not get proper justice. My lordship it respectfully stated that the police authority has irregularly arrested the
petitioner but your lordship Kindly interpret the existing legal system In Saatchi way so that the applicability
of the present law is equal for both men and women as well. In the above-mentioned circumstances, the state
humbly spread before lordship to dismiss the repetition and direct the police authority to investigate the
matter.
The Judge: Considering the submission of both the parties the court comes to the conclusion that:
1. Section 3 of Sexual Harassment of Women of Workplaces Act 2013 and section 75 of the Bharatiya
Nyaya Sanhita deprives male community from providing protection against sexual harassment. Due
to inadequacy in the criminal legislations, the justice is denied to the male communities. Thus, to
fulfill the loopholes of the existing legislations, the court gives flowing guidelines:
a) A man can also became the victim of sexual harassment, defined under the abovementioned
statues.
b) The term ‘women’ given under section 3 of the Sexual Harassment of Women of Workplaces
Act 2013 shall also include ‘men’. And the definition mentioned under section 2(n) of this act
shall inter alia applies to a man.
c) The term ‘men’ mentioned under section 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita shall include
‘women’ as well.
d) In such cases where a men victimized of sexual harassment; the police can take cognizance.
e) The trial courts should be very cautioned while dealing these kinds of matters. There should
not be any false conviction.
f) The judgement should not be used as counter-complaint against another complaint.
2. This court shall recommend to the Hon’ble Governor of the state to make necessary amendments to
the previous mentioned statutes to implement this judgement as legislative instrument.
3. The writ petition stands dismissed.
Adv Damayanti: Lordship, I must mention, your decision is completely ignoring the statute.

message and tried to break the stereotype that not only women but men are also being sexually harassed at
workplaces, thank you.
