Human Intelligence

Descriptions and Types

A. Description of Intelligence

Intelligence is about intelligence, the perfection of human reason. The word intelligence
is taken from the root of intelligent words. According to the Big Dictionary of intelligent
Indonesian means perfect development of the mind of a human being to think, understand,
sharp mind and perfect growth of his body.

A well-known psychologist, Howard Gardner defines intelligence as:

 The ability to solve a problem.

 The ability to create new problems to solve.
 The ability to create something or offer a valuable service in a community culture.

B. Types of Human Intelligence

Howard Gardner explained that human intelligence or intelligence which is further

referred to as this, can be divided into 9 types of intelligence:

 Mathematical Logic Intelligence: A person's ability to regulate, measure, and

understand numerical symbols, abstraction and logic. This intelligence is usually measured
academically in school-schools. Linguistic Intelligence: Language processing skills both in
terms of understanding or implementation in writing or verbally. Similar to mathematical
logical intelligence, this intelligence is also usually measured academically.
 Spatial Visual Intelligence: It is defined as the ability to perceive the visual world and
how themrelationship of one object to another. This may sound a little confusing, but in short
it can be explained as intelligence related to painting, solving puzzles, photography and the
like.
 Kinesthetic Intelligence: Ability that is related to how a person uses his limbs in a
skilled manner. This is where physical sports athletes, including pantonym experts, excel
compared to other people.
 Musical Intelligence: As the name suggests, this intelligence is about a person's ability
to recognize and create sounds, rhythms, and sound patterns to what we know as "music."
 Intrapersonal Intelligence: Describes how high the level is self-awareness someone
has. Starting from realizing weakness, strength, to his own feelings. A successful leader at
least definitely have good interpersonal intelligence self-development or vision of their
success.
 Interpersonal intelligence: Contrary to intrapersonal intelligence, interpersonal
intelligence is the ability to communicate with others start from understanding other people's
feelings to abilities
influence the person.
 Naturalist Intelligence: An additional category of intelligencerelating to the ability to
process information on the good environment of nature or the environment around you. A
simple example is you like it in nature free, related to animals, or further can classify wild life
like plants and animals easily.
 Existential Intelligence: Those who explore this theory of intelligence suggested that
there should be additional categories of intelligence relating to religious and spiritual
awareness.

But even though you are more skilled in intelligence than one other, it should be noted
that in fact all humans have all 9 of these intelligences only at different levels. One might be
an expert at painting, while the other might be an expert may be experts in mathematical
calculations. One is a musician, the other is an expert
C. Everybody is Genius, Buddy!

Who are you genius?

Example: The late Steve Jobs, was a figure who was seen and touted as a genius and
charismatic leader even more so as the founder of Apple. With his various visionary products,
he brought the civilization of mobile phone technology to become the biggest advance in the
year. However, it turns out according to a biographer, Steve Jobs does not have a level of
genius that can be said to be extraordinary, he is only categorized as having average
intelligence. However, how he used his intrapersonal intelligence made him a genius.

From here we can see that it is very important for us, including you to know which
intelligence we are better than the people around us. Everyone has nine types of intelligence
mentioned above, the difference is only in the part where the person stands out. That is what
causes each human being to be unique and different. Always try new things and maybe you
will find inspiration in your new life. Study, practice, and consult with experts like teachers,
experts, etc. certainly can add to your insight and experience. Of course, adjusting the
