I.LEARNING OBJECTIVES  Students should be able to identify various functions of communication, including control or regulation, motivation, social interaction,
information dissemination, emotional expression. Provide examples for each form.
 Students should understand the role of feedback in the communication process and be able to explain how it helps in clarifying and improving
messages.
 Evaluate students based on their participation in the group activity, the accuracy of examples, and their contributions during the class discussion.

 The teacher will divide the students into small groups


 One student from each group will pick a card without revealing the function to their team.
 The student must then express the function through a charade without speaking while their team guesses the function being acted out.
 Set a timer (e.g., 1-2 minutes) for each round.

B. DEVELOPMENT
1. Discussing new concepts Communication serves various purposes in human interactions. Firstly, it plays a crucial role in control or regulation by helping establish guidelines
and practicing new skills and expectations within a group or society. Through communication, individuals can coordinate actions, maintain order, and ensure everyone is on

Secondly, communication serves as a tool for motivation, inspiring individuals to take action or achieve common goals. Positive and encouraging
messages can boost morale and drive individuals to work towards shared objectives. By fostering a supportive environment, effective communication
contributes to a motivated and engaged community or team.
2. Discussing new concepts  Control or regulation refers to the process of managing and directing activities to achieve a desired outcome. It involves setting rules or
and practicing new skills guidelines to guide behavior and ensure that things operate smoothly.

 Motivation is the drive or energy that prompts individuals to take action or pursue a goal. It can come from internal factors like personal desires
or external factors like rewards or recognition. Motivation plays a crucial role in influencing behavior and encouraging people to accomplish
tasks.

 Social interaction involves the way individuals communicate and connect with each other. It encompasses verbal and non-verbal exchanges,
fostering relationships and creating a sense of belonging within a community.

 Information dissemination is the act of sharing knowledge or data with others. It includes the distribution of information through various
channels, such as conversations, written materials, or digital platforms.

Emotional expression is the communication of feelings through facial expressions, body language, or verbal communication. It allows individuals to
convey their emotions, fostering understanding and connection with others. Emotional expression plays a vital role in human interaction and
relationships.
