A detailed 4As Lesson Plan in mathematics 3

I. Objective

At the end of the discussion, the students are expected to…

A. Students will be able to apply multiplication facts to solve real- life problems

B. Students will be able to multiply numbers using 6, 7, 8, and 9.

C. Perform multiplication problem involving number from 6, 7, 8, and 9

II. Subject Matter

A. Topic: multiply numbers using the 6,7,8 and 9 multiplication table

B. Reference: Mathematics book grade 3

C. Materials: Multiplication table, worksheet, Visual Aides

III. Procedure

Teacher's activity Pupil's activity

A.Preparatory activity

Good evening, children Good evening, teacher

How are you today We're fine thank you

Before we start our new discussion may i request (The children will stand up and pray)
every one to stand up and let us pray.

Before you sit down please pick up any pieces of

paper under your chair and arranging your chairs (Student will pick up the pieces of paper,
and sit property arrange their chairs and sit property)

B. Checking of attendance
Now, I'm going to check your attendance

Class monitor, do we have any absentee Teacher, am glad to say that there's no
absent to day.
Very good! I'm happy to hear that there's no absent
today.

1. Activity

Now before we proceed to our lesson I have a new Yes teacher

activity here. I will paste a set of multiplication
numbers on the board and you're going to fill the (The student who want to join the activity
missing number to complete the problem. Are you raised their hand)
ready children ?

Raise your hand if you want to answer.

Yes teacher!
2x_=6 (The student will go to the board and fill
_ x 5 = 20 the missing number)

5 x _ = 25 1. 2 x 3 = 6

2 x _ = 18 2. 4 x 5 = 20

_x2=8 3. 5 x 5 = 25

4. 2 x 9 = 18

Very good my dear student! I'm happy that you 5. 4 x 2 = 8

learn on our discussion last week.

3 Analysis

Class, always remember that the number to be

multiplied is called the multiplicand and the number
which we multiply is called the multiplier the result
we obtain is the product

For example 6 x 5= 30

The 6 is the multiplicand and the 5 is the multiple

and the 30 is the product

Now take at look at the board here's the

multiplication table from 6 to 9

What do you
Teacher we see is a set of multiplication
table from 6-9

Very good this is the multiplication table from 6-9 for

you to master this and easily multiply you can use
this step

Restate the problem as an additional problem. For

instance, say you are given the problem 6 x 7. This
is really just another way to say “6 groups of 7,” or,
for that matter, “7 groups of 6.”

So, since it's the same as “6 groups of 7,” you can

view the problem as

7+7+7+7+7+7

Or, if you prefer, view it as

6+6+6+6+6+6+6

Again class what do we call the number we

multiplied?
Teacher it called the multiplicand
And what do we called the result we obtain?
Teacher it call the product
Now I will divide the class into two groups and I will
give a set of multiplication problems and you’re
going to answer it. The first one who finished the
activity will receive a reward.
Group 1

6x4 7x2 Group 1

6x7 6x6 6 x 4 = 24 7x2= 14

7x5 8x5 6 x 7 = 42 6x6= 36

6x9 9x7 7 x 4 = 28 8x5= 40

7 x 8 = 56 9x7= 63

Group 2

7x1 8x2 Group 2

6x3 8x8 7x1=7 8 x 2 = 16

6x5 6x6 6 x 3 = 18

6x2 9x8 8 x 8 = 64

6 x 5 = 30 6 x 6 = 36

9 x 6 = 54 9 x 8 = 72

4. Abstraction

Now what you observe when doing the activity?

(The student will answer may vary)

How does multiplication relates to our daily life

Class, remember that if you master the (The student will answer may vary)
multiplication table you can multiply easier and you
can easily use any kind of strategy to solve the
problems.

5. Application

Now i want you to answer this scenario with the use

of multiplication 6 - 9 tables.
Answer:
1. You have 6 flower pots, and each pot has 8
flowers. How many flowers are there in total? 1. 6 x 8 = 48

2. You have 8 plates, and each plate has 5 2. 8 x 5 = 40

cookies. How many cookies do you have in total?
3. You have 7 baskets and each basket 3. 7 x 6 = 42
contains 6 oranges. How many oranges do you
have in total? 4. 9 x 2 = 18

4. You go to the store to buy a tray of eggs. 5. 7 x 2 = 14

Each tray has 9 eggs. You only buy 2 trays. How
many eggs do you have?

5. You are packing your suitcase and decided

to bring 7 pairs of socks for each day for a 2 days
trip. How many pairs of socks will you pack?

Evaluation

A. Direction: write the correct answer .

1. 6x9=

2. 9x8=

3. 7x9=
Answer:
4. 7x5 =
1. 6 x 9 = 54
5. 9x9=
2. 9 x 8 = 72

3. 7 x 9 = 63
Assignment
4. 7 x 5 = 35
Direction: In your assignment notebook, copy and
solve the multiplication scenario. 5. 9 x 9 = 81

1. Anna give 8 apple to juan and juan have 3

basket of apple. How many apple he have ?

2. You have 6 candy and berto have 9 candy.
