Types of Karma

You have a right to perform your prescribed duty, but you are not entitled to the fruits of
action. Never consider yourself to be the cause of the results of your activities, and never be
attached to not doing your duty.
Those who restrain the external organs of action, while continuing to dwell
on sense objects in the mind, certainly cheat themselves and are to be called
hypocrites.
यधस््वधरियाधि र्नसा धनयम्यारर्तेऽर्मनु |
कर्ेधरियै: कर्मयोगर्सक्त: स धवधिष्यते || 3.7
But those karm yogis who control their knowledge senses with the mind,
O Arjun, and engage the working senses in working without attachment,
are certainly superior.
धनयतं कुरु कर्म ्वं कर्म ज्यायो ह्यकर्मि: |
िरीरयात्राधि च ते न प्रधसद्् येदकर्मि: || 3.8
You should thus perform your prescribed Vedic duties, since action is
superior to inaction. By ceasing activity, even your bodily maintenance
will not be possible.
तस्र्ादसक्त: सततं कायं कर्म सर्ाचर |
असक्तो ह्याचररकर्म िरर्ाप्नोधत िरुभ ष: || 3.19

• Face failure with dignity
न र्े िार्ामधस्त कतमव्यं धत्रषु लोके षु धकञ्चन |
नानवाप्तर्वाप्तव्यं वतम एव च कर्मधि || 3.22
For if I did not carefully perform the prescribed duties, O Parth, all
men would follow my path in all respects.
