Name of Company 01-2020 to 06-2022
Title of Position
● The general rule of thumb is to use an equal number of bullet points per position. It is the most
aesthetically pleasing and makes it easier for the ATS to read your resume.
● No more than 4 - 5 bullet points per position.
● Quantify your bullet points. This drives home the impact that you made in your previous position.
● Consider using the bold tool to highlight your greatest accomplishments or further drive home
the impact that you made at your last company.

Name of Company 03-2018 to 01-2020

Title of Position
● You have a limited amount of bullet points that you can use for each position that you have
worked. It is important to only highlight your best achievements and a blend of soft and hard
skills that are relevant to the position that you are applying for.
● Don’t use smaller than size 10 font for your bullet points. Use sizes 18-24 for your name.
● Do not lie on your resume, but don’t undersell or cut yourself short. If you feel guilty, scale it back a
bit.
● Use keywords from the job postings or the industry to which you are applying to ensure that you
pass through the ATS successfully.

Name of Company 10-2015 to 02-2018

Title of Position
● Use numbers to quantify your resume. Combine this with bold text. See below for an example.

monitoring of customer transactions. This product generated over 25M in revenue in 2022.
● Managed the overall roadmap and product vision of (company name) flagship product,
generating 10M in gross revenue.
● Remember to list some of your soft skills! This is incredibly important for positions in management.

Name of Company 01-2014 to 09-2015

Title of Position
● If you don’t have a LinkedIn profile, make one. Networking will significantly increase your odds
of landing a quality position at a great company.
● Go to the profile page of the company where you want to work. Search through the employee’s
LinkedIn profiles until you find one that works in the same position that you are applying
for. Send them a connect request and ask them about the company culture and their position.
● Use LinkedIn to ‘document’ what you are doing each day and focus on building your brand. Pick
a niche that you understand and actively post about it. Employers are looking for people like
this.
● At the bottom of each job posting on LinkedIn is the hiring recruiter who posted the job ad. Reach
out to them to express your interest in the position. Be genuine and don’t be pushy.

Name of Company 06-2013 to 01-2014

Title of Position
● Finally, have your close friends, co-workers, or a program like Grammarly spell check your
resume before you submit it.
● Submitting a resume with grammatical or spelling errors will disqualify you from the candidate
pool.
● You can also use a text-to-speech program to have your resume read back to you. You will
hear any possible errors if you listen closely.
● Save and distribute your resume in PDF format unless otherwise specified.
