IMPACT EVALUATION REPORT: INITIAL VS. FINAL ORAL READING TEST RESULTS
Context: This report evaluates the impact of instructional interventions on the oral reading
abilities of Grade 2-Lombigao students at Cabalaoangan Elementary School in San Quintin,
Pangasinan, based on the initial and final oral reading test results conducted during the school
year 2023-2024.
Objectives:
To assess the overall improvement in oral reading skills from the initial to the final test.
To identify specific areas of improvement and areas requiring further attention.
To provide recommendations for future instructional practices.
Methodology:
Data was collected from the initial and final oral reading tests, which were administered to
all Grade 2-Lombigao students.
The data was analyzed to compare the percentage of students in each performance
category (Very Good, Good, Average, Slow, Non-Reader) between the two tests.
Findings:
Overall Improvement:
The final oral reading test results demonstrate a positive trend in the students' reading
abilities.
The percentage of students classified as "Slow" decreased from 30% in the initial test to
23% in the final test.
The percentage of students performing at the "Average" level increased slightly from 44%
to 42%.
Reduced "Slow" category: This suggests that the interventions and instruction
implemented between the initial and final tests have been effective in helping students
improve their reading fluency and comprehension.
Increased "Average" category: This indicates that more students are now demonstrating
a solid understanding of the core concepts of oral reading.

Continue current strategies: Maintain the current strategies that have proven effective in
improving reading fluency and comprehension.
Targeted interventions: Continue to provide targeted interventions for students who are
still classified as "Slow" or "Non-Readers" to address their specific learning needs.
Challenge high achievers: Offer additional challenges and enrichment activities for
students who are performing at the "Very Good" and "Good" levels to foster their continued
growth and development.
Data-driven instruction: Continue to use data from assessments to inform instructional
decisions and ensure that all students are receiving appropriate support and challenges.
Conclusion:
The evaluation of the initial and final oral reading test results indicates that the
instructional interventions implemented have had a positive impact on the students' reading
abilities. While there is still room for improvement, particularly for students in the "Non-Reader"
category, the overall trend suggests that the school is effectively addressing the diverse learning
needs of its students. By continuing to implement the recommended strategies and using data to
guide instruction, Cabalaoangan Elementary School can further enhance its students' reading
skills and ensure that all students achieve their full potential.
