Dear Dean Dr. Nicolas and Department Head Engr. Paala,

This proposal outlines the final examination format for System Integration and
Architecture, focusing on the development and presentation of a web application
system. This examination will assess students' ability to design, build, and integrate
software solutions, mirroring real-world software development practices.

Examination Details:

 Course: System Integration and Architecture

 Date: TBA
 Time: TBA
 Location: Innovative College of Science & Technology

Examination Structure:

1. Web Application System Development: Students, individually or in groups, will

develop a functional web application system throughout the course. This will
involve:

 Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Identifying user needs and defining

system functionalities.
 System Design: Creating the architecture and design of the application,
including database design, user interface (UI) design, and API specifications.
 Testing: Conducting thorough testing to ensure functionality, security, and
performance.

2. System Presentation and Demonstration: Students will present their

completed web application system, demonstrating its features and
functionalities.
3. System Integration Discussion: A key component of this examination will be a
discussion focused on system integration. Students will:
 Explain their integration choices: Discuss how their application integrates
with other systems or services (e.g., databases, APIs, third-party libraries).
 Analyze architectural decisions: Explain the rationale behind their chosen
system architecture and how it supports integration.
 Discuss integration challenges: Identify any challenges faced during the
integration process and how they were addressed.
 Address scalability and security: Explain how their integration strategy
considers scalability, security, and maintainability.

Assessment Criteria:

Student performance will be evaluated based on:

 Functionality: The completeness and correctness of the web application's

features.
 Design and Implementation: The quality of the system's design, code, and
adherence to best practices.
 Integration Strategy: The effectiveness and appropriateness of the system
integration approach.
 Presentation and Communication: Clarity, organization, and effectiveness in
presenting the project and explaining integration concepts.
 Technical Understanding: Depth of knowledge in system architecture,
integration principles, and relevant technologies.

Benefits of this Examination Format:

 Practical Application of Knowledge: Students apply theoretical concepts to a

real-world project, enhancing their understanding and skills.
 Focus on Integration: Emphasizes the crucial skill of system integration,
increasingly important in modern software development.
 Develops Critical Thinking: Encourages students to analyze and solve
integration challenges.
 Enhances Communication Skills: Provides a platform for students to articulate
technical concepts and design decisions.

I believe this examination format will provide a valuable and comprehensive assessment
of our students' skills and readiness for their future careers. I welcome your feedback
and approval for this proposed examination structure.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Jesfer Babao
