English.
Dead Stars
Dead Stars is a short story of an over thirty-year-old bachelor,
Alfredo Salazar who was about to get married to his fiancée, Esperanza.
His love and passion for his fiancé started getting fade as he was attracted
to another woman named Julia Salas. As Alfredo knew that his family
would disapprove his desire of having another woman, he unwantedly
married with Esperanza and started his own family. Later, after eight
years, Alfredo went on a business trip to Julia’s place. In his visit to Julia,
to his surprise, he recognized that he no more feel attracted to her
anymore. He compared his love for her as dead stars, his memory of a
long way to get a girl he thought he loved.

A Child of Sorrow
The story revolves around two lovers, Rosa and Lucio, who had undergone
a lot of tribulations in their relationship. They were torn between fighting for
their love or complying their responsibilities to their parents. Besides, there
was Oscar who gave several quakes to their strong ties. Until one night,
Oscar raped the beautiful Rosa. She was helpless that time like a gazelle
in the teeth of a lion. The two--Rosa and Lucio--said goodbye to each
other with Rosa couldn't move on and wept almost every day and Lucio
who drowned himself in paperwork, books, and all. At the end, Rosa died.

JAPANESE PERIOD
During this period, the declared official languages are Tagalog and
Nihonggo. Most of the publications were censored by the military. That is
why Philippine Literature came to a stop.
Period of Activism (1970) - the youth started to seek for reform, especially
in government. They became vocal in their sentiments.
Period of New Society (1972-1980) - poems dealt with patience, regard for
native culture, customs, and beauty of nature. Moreover, news about
economic progress, discipline, culture, and tourism were favored rather
than the brutalities and killings. Filipinos are also fan of comics during this
period.
Period of the New Republic (1981-1985), where Martial Rule was lifted,
poems were about romantic and revolution, and Filipino songs are about
aspiration of freedom, love of God, of country and of fellowmen.
Post-EDSA 1 Revolution (1986-1999), academic institutions and
organizations funded workshops, training, and conferences to explore
more about literature and writing. Both English and Tagalog became the
medium of literature.
21st Century Period, new trends have emerged and been used to meet the
needs and tastes of the new generation. The integration and knowledge of
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) became a vital role,
which can help in writing, style, and format. New codes and lingos were
also created and used to add flavor to the recent literary pieces.
