2. Teknik pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris apa saja yang pernah atau sering Anda
gunakan dalam mengajarkan Bahasa Inggris di Sekolah Dasar?
Answer :
b) Songs: Using songs to introduce new vocabulary and sentence patterns. Simple songs
are highly effective for improving students’ memory.
c) Games: Activities such as puzzles, word games, or role-playing help students interact
with English in fun and non-threatening situations.
Based on my sister's experience, the teaching techniques he/she uses are very effective in
supporting the process of learning English in elementary schools. Techniques like TPR,
songs, games, and storytelling not only make learning more enjoyable, but also reinforce
students' understanding of the material being taught. Students tend to remember
vocabulary and sentence structures more easily when they learn through fun and
interactive activities. Furthermore, these techniques can boost students' motivation to
learn, especially in the context of language learning, which can often feel challenging.
4. Kendala apa saja yang sering Anda temukan dalam mengimplementasikan teknik-
teknik pembelajaran dalam pengajaran Bahasa inggris di Sekolah Dasar?
Answer :
Some challenges commonly encountered when implementing teaching techniques include:
a) Lack of Facilities: Not all schools have adequate facilities such as projectors,
speakers, or visual aids to support techniques like multimedia storytelling or effective
use of songs.
b) Differences in Student Abilities: Each student has a different learning pace and level
of understanding. This can become a challenge when engaging all students in
activities that require active participation, such as games or storytelling.
c) Limited Time: In some schools, the English class time is limited, making it difficult
to implement techniques that require more time, such as more complex games or
longer storytelling sessions.
d) Inconsistent Student Motivation: Even though techniques like songs and games are
enjoyable, there are times when students still feel lazy or uninterested, especially if
they are not yet familiar with the English language.
e) Classroom Management: Activities involving many movements or interactions can
often cause the class to become noisier, so good classroom management skills are
necessary.
5. Apakah Anda mengenal kegiatan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris melalui song (lagu),
game (permainan), dan storytelling (cerita)?
Answer :
Yes, I am very familiar with and often use learning activities through songs, games, and
storytelling.
a) Songs are an effective way to teach rhythm, pronunciation, and English vocabulary to
children. Simple and fun songs like "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" or "Head,
Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" can help students remember vocabulary and sentence
structures in a fun way.
b) Games like Bingo, Guess the Word, or Simon Says can teach vocabulary,
commands, and even sentence structures indirectly. Games can also increase student
engagement in learning.
c) Storytelling is a great way to develop students' listening and speaking skills. Through
stories, students not only learn new vocabulary but also learn about story structure,
tense usage, and common expressions used in everyday communication.
