The teacher greets each learner as they arrive in the classroom. The teacher may say hello and welcome the learners. Learners who
come early may be given time for free play while waiting.

The “Move with Me” Challenge

4. Attendance Check
The teachers are given the option to be creative as they can in calling the roll ensuring learner’s interest is held and permits
shy learners
to take part and build confidence. A creative roll call sets the mood for a fun meeting.

10. Getting Ready for class (This is also the time when concepts learned the previous week/day are reviewed and the message
for the day is introduced)
Today, we will play and learn more. These are the things that each group will be doing..
SAY: All of you will have activity to work on.
Group 1 – My Emotions
Instructions: Here are pictures for you to color. Paste them on the manila paper. Identify the emotion shown in each picture. Get the emotion
card that corresponds to it. Paste the card beside it.
Group 2 – Feelings Collage
Instructions: You cut pictures of people showing different emotions. Group the pictures of the same emotion and paste on a bond paper to form a
collage (one page for happy, another page for sad and for angry). Bind the pages using glue and paste the words “Different Emotions” on the front
page.
Group 3- Activity Title – My Favorite Activity
Instructions: You get the pictures of different activities on weekend on the table. Examine them carefully. Choose which one you love to do on
weekends and color it.
Instructions: You choose pictures which are related to your experiences in the school. Paste the pictures inside the school image. Continue
pasting pictures until the image of a school will be filled completely and narrate your personal experiences in school.
SAY: While you are working on your task I will hop and sit in each group for 8 minutes.
DO: Work on the teacher supervised activity of the day with the 6 learners in the group in a playful manner, within 8 minutes. Moved to the 2nd
group in the next 8th minutes, then to the 3rd and 4th group, completing all the groups in 32 minutes.

TEACHER SUPERVISED ACTIVITIES
Day 1
Objective:
1. Name the object in the picture beginning with /Ll/ and /Ii/ sound
2. Produce the sound of letters /Ll/ and /Ii/
3. Trace letters /Ll/ and /Ii/ using seeds
4. Run fingers over the seeds to form letters /Ll/ and /Ii/
Activity Title:
Letter Making Ll and Ii
Materials:
Basket, Bottle of glue, Seeds,
Pictures of objects beginning with /Ll/ and /Ii/ sound
(see attached pictures)
Tracing worksheets

Procedure:
1. The teacher will print the pictures and worksheets.
2. She will prepare a basket with a bottle of glue and seeds.
I DO PHASE:
1. Show pictures of objects which begin with /Ll/ and /Ii/ sound.
2. Say the name of each picture emphasizing the /Ll/ and /Ii/
sound.
(lamp, leaf, lemon, log)
(ink, infant, iguana, insect)
3. Ask the learners what the initial sound of each picture is.
4. Show to the learners big and small letters /Ll/ or /Ii/ while producing its sound.

5. Show how to write letters /Ll/ and /Ii/ in the air, on someone’s back and on the cardboard (say vertical line/ horizontal line).

6. The TEACHER and the learners produce the sounds of /Ll/ and /Ii/.
7. The TEACHER asks the learners to say the name of each object after her as she flashes the picture.
8. The TEACHER and the learners write letters /Ll/ and /Ii/ in the air, on someone’s back, and on a piece of paper (say vertical line/ horizontal
line).

9. The learners identify the name of the object in each picture flashed.
10. The TEACHER asks the learners to produce the initial sound of the words:

11. Ask the learners to give other names of objects found in the community which begin with the sound of /Ll/ and /Ii/.
12. Let the learners get the materials from the basket.
13. Let them glue the seeds on the outline tracing each block letter of /Ll/ and /Ii/ following the arrows or numbers.
Let them run their fingers over the seeds to form the letters (say vertical line/ horizontal line).
INDEPENDENT ACTIVITIES
Activity 1
Objective: Identify different emotions
Activity Title: My Emotions
Materials: Pictures of learner’s experiences (see attached ready-to-print pictures) Emotion cards, Coloring materials, Manila paper
Procedure:
1. The teacher will distribute all the materials to the learners.
2. The learners will do the following:
● Color all the pictures and paste them on the manila paper;
● Identify the emotion shown in each picture;
Get the emotion card and paste it beside the picture.
Activity 2
Objective: Identify different emotions
Activity Title: Feelings Collage
Materials: Used magazines, a pair of scissors, glue, bond paper, paper strip (Different Emotions)
Procedure:
1. The teacher will prepare the materials and give them to the learners.
2. The learners will do the following:

● Cut pictures of people showing different emotions;
● Group the pictures of the same emotion and paste on a bond paper to form a collage (one page for happy, another page for sad
and for angry).
Bind the pages using glue and paste the words “Different Emotions” on the front page.
Activity 3
Objective: Narrate one’s personal experience of the day
Activity Title: My Favorite Activity
Materials: pictures of different activities on weekends, bond paper, coloring materials
Procedure:
1. The teacher will prepare the materials and place them on the table.
2. The learners will do the following:
● Get the pictures of different activities on weekend on the table;
● Examine them carefully;
Choose which one you love to do on weekends and color it.
Activity 4
Objective: Narrate one’s personal experience in school
Activity Title: Collage Making
Materials: printed school picture (long bond paper size), set of pictures (learner’s experiences in school), glue
Procedure:
1. The teacher will do the following:
● Prepare the materials;
● Distribute a printed school image, set of pictures (learner’s experiences in school), and a glue.
2. The learners will do the following:
● Choose pictures which are related to your experiences in the school;
● Paste the pictures inside the school image;
● Continue pasting pictures until the image of a school will be filled completely; and
Narrate your personal experiences in school.
TRANSITION
Well done kids. Prepare now for snack time. (Give time for the learners to wash their hands. The kids may sing an action song while
falling in line to wash their hands)

1. Instruct the children to fall in line, go to the washing area, show to them how to wash their hands, and then go back to their seats.
2. Let the learners get their snacks.
3. Shows the proper way of cutting the wrappers/unwrapping food, and drinking.
4. Eats with the learners.
5. After eating, guide and show the children the proper way of disposing garbage.
6. After disposing the garbage, shows the proper way of tooth brushing.

40 minutes Materials: Counters, Cardboard rolls with number/ Small bowl/ basket, pop sticks
Procedure:
1. The teacher will give each learner popsicle sticks, a small bowl/ basket, pop stick and cardboard rolls with numbers.
2. Let the learners perform the following:
● count the popsicle sticks
● place the popsicle sticks inside the numbered cardboard rolls they represent
(The teacher may use other counters)
Process Questions:
● How many objects are there in number 2?
● How many objects are there in number 7?
INDEPENDENT ACTIVITIES
Children work in small groups, in pairs, or individually on either teacher-assigned or child-initiated activities. (Round robin) The child
must be able to accomplish 1 independent activity and 1 teacher-supervised activity. These activities help the learners master the
previously learned skills, or advance to the next skills to be mastered. The child is given 25 minutes to work on the supervised
activities.

Procedure:
1. Show sets of pictures of events.
2. Let them perform the following:
understand the activities shown in each picture; and sequence each set of pictures by writing 1,2, 3 and 4 below each picture.
Activity 4
Objective: Identify sequence of events (before, after, first, next, last)
Activity Title: Cutting and Sticking
Materials: picture sheet, pair of scissors, crayons, glue
Procedure:
1. Give each group a picture sheet, crayons, pair of scissors and glue .
2. Let them do the following:
● cut out each of the picture;
● color each of them; and
● paste them in the right order on a bond paper
