(a) Both Assertion (A) and Reason (R) are the true and Reason (R) is a correct
explanation of Assertion (A).
(b) Both Assertion (A) and Reason (R) are the true but Reason (R) is not a
correct explanation of Assertion (A).
(c) Assertion (A) is true and Reason (R) is false.
(d) Assertion (A) is false and Reason (R) is true.
7. Assertion (A): Volume of sphere = 4/3 πr3 and its surface area is 4πr2 (1)
Reason(R): If the volume of two spheres are in the ration 27:8, then their
surface area are in the ratio 9:4
8. Assertion(A): The length of a chord which is at a distance of 5cm from the (1)
centre of a circle of radius 10cm is 17.32cm.
Reason(R): The perpendicular from the centre of a circle to a chord bisects
the chord.
9. Assertion(A): There are infinite number of lines which passes through (3,15). (1)
Reason(R): A linear equation in two variables has infinitely many solutions.
10. Assertions(A): There can be infinite number of equal chords of a circle. (1)
Reason(R): A circle has only finite number of equal chords.
Section-B (Short Questions 25 marks)

(i)2x + y = 7 (ii)x = 4y
12. Prove that, if chords of congruent circles subtend equal angles at their (2)
centres, then the chords are equal.

16. What length of tarpaulin 3 m wide will be required to make a conical tent of (3)
height 8 m and base radius 6m? Assume that the extra length of material that
will be required for stitching margins and wastage in cutting is
approximately 20 cm.[Use π=3.14]

7 m. Find the volume of wheat in the heap. The heap is to be covered by
canvas to protect it from rain, find the area of the canvas required.
18. Prove that: If the sum of a pair of opposite angles of a quadrilateral is 1800 (3)
,then quadrilateral is cyclic.
OR
Prove that: The angle subtended by an arc at the centre is double the
angle subtended by it at any point on the remaining part of the circle.
19. Prove that: If non-parallel sides of a trapezium are equal, prove that it is cyclic. (3)
20. (i)Prove that: If diagonals of a cyclic quadrilateral are diameters of the circle (3)
through the vertices of the quadrilateral, prove that it is a rectangle.
