Activity (Role Play) 1 - Prepare to start duty.

Inject 1

Assessor: You have reported for duty, and you are in the changing Room. How do you
check your attire and personal grooming.
Verbalize:

“I will stand in front of the mirror, and I make sure my hair is neat and tidy.
My uniform is clean and pressed, shoes are polished.
My security pass and tag are put on.

Inject 2- Assessor: Supervisor hands over an incomplete work schedule to you. “This
This is the work schedule for the day.”

Inject 3 You may proceed to check all equipment and systems.

CCTV Recorder Power light and recording lights are on.
Fire Alarm Panel power light ON, Zone light OFF, system normal.

Telephone damage there is a dialing tone.
Key Press keys are accounted for according to the key list.
Access Card Swipe card at card reader, system is working.

Demonstrate how you check your Mobile Patrol Device:

1. No external damage
2. Scan the e-Assessment QR code to access e-Assessment Tools Platform.
3. Select Provide Guard and Patrol Services, and
4. Scan the Guard House Clocking Point #01 QR code.

Inject 4 You may now proceed to check books and files (according to Form 1)
Verbalise the checking of books and files and complete security system &
equipment Form 1.

1. Duty Attendance Book Checked, it is updated.


2. Occurrence Book Checked, it is updated.
3. Visitors/Contractors Vehicles Checked, it is updated.

You have completed checking all the books and files and you are going to
take over duty and sign the checklist (Form 1)

Inject 5 Write in Occurrence book and take over duty.
When you check the Occurrence Book, you see that there is an entry a
Contractor repairing broken window at #02-01.

the Assessor who is going to hand over duty to you, will tell you that
one contractor is repairing broken window at level 2 #02-1

You will say “I will follow up with the contractor on the status of the repair
work.” And write it in the Occurrence Book.

Activity 2 Operate Access control System.


Inject 1 On-site training for new security officer.
Use Annex A and Annex B to talk about the security system and access control
of the factory.
Scenario: - You are a Security Officer attached to JOJO Electronics.
Your supervisor has tasked you to conduct in-service.
training for five new security officers on how to operate the basic security
equipment of the factory.

Commence the training by explaining to the security officers the different levels of
authorized entry withing the factory.

“Hi guys, good morning. I am a senior security officer.
This is JOJO electronics site plan. It is well guarded and secured with electronic
surveillance and access control systems.
Access to the factory is via the main entrance. Staff are to tap their staff pass onto the
Access Control System Card Reader located at the Main entrance.
There are three levels of authorized entry to the factory based on the following guidelines:

1. DESIGNATION (RANK OR APPOINTMENT)

Management staff such as the (A, B, C & D)

2. FUNCTIONAL ROLE (WORK RESPONSIBILITIES)

a) Admin staff will be allowed into Area B


b) Manufacturing staff will be allowed into Area C (Armed 2000hrs to 0800hrs.)
c) Logistic Officers/store men will be allowed into Area D (Armed 2000hrs to
0800hrs.)

3. SECURITY CATEGORY/CLASSIFICATION (SECURITY SENSITIVE LEVEL)

The Strong Room & Data Storage areas located in area A, are Restricted areas and out
of bound to all staff except to those designated for entry by special authorization.

Scenario.

Continue with the training by explaining to your new officers how to process an
application for a staff pass for new staff.

You are required to handle a request by a new employed staff who is applying for access to
the Admin Office (Area B)

Inject 2 This is the Application Form for Staff Access Card by Amy Chua (Form 3)
Check and ensure that all the information provided by Amy Chua is correct.

1. Switch on your computer.


2. Key in your User Id and password.
3. Key in particulars of Applicant, Amy Chua
4. Programme the staff pass with access to Area B
5. Print the access card and test it at the access card reader.
6. Complete the application form (Form B)
7. Hand over the card to Amy Chua and remind her the card is non-
transferable.
8. Let her sign the form.

Inject 3 Demonstrate the steps to disarm access control system for an area. (Area C)
Use the keyboard picture provided and describe how to disarm the access
control system for an area as indicated.
1. On your computer keyboard, press command (50)
2. Input area to be disarmed*
3. Press Enter
4. Input the disarm code**
5. Press Enter

The system is disarmed.

Activity (Role Play) 3 Perform Static Guard Duties

Scenario:
Management had directed you to be vigilant by checking and recording all visitors and
vehicles entering the premises. A vehicle stops in front of you saying that he is a
contractor. What must you do?
1. Good morning, sir. How can I help you?”
2. “Sir, can I see your photo ID? ask contractor to verify his name and address.”
3. Contact the facility manager to verify the visit by the contractor.
Call the facility Manager Mr. Raymond Wee:
“Hello Mr. Wee, I am SO …………. from the guard house. Mr. Tan Ah Kw is here to repair the
valve in the pump room. Can I send him in?

Sir, Company instruction I must check your vehicle, toolbox and equipment.
Verbalise:
I check the vehicle toolbox, and equipment. Check for unauthorized items, the boot, spare
wheel compartment and containers in the vehicle. Use undercarriage mirror to check the
undercarriage for any IED.

Record details of the contractor in visitors’ management system


Hand over visitor pass, and vehicle pass to the contractor.
“Sir this is your contractor pass and vehicle pass. Please always display them. Please drive
straight and turn right and park at the visitor’s lot. The facility manager is waiting for you.”

Inject 2 Person forcing entry into the factory.


1. Detain him in the guardhouse and call control to send backup.
2. Inform supervisor and management to call the police.
3. When Police arrive, brief the police and hand over the suspect to
the police.
4. Record in Pocketbook, Update Occurrence book and put-up
incident report.

Inject 3 A lost wallet found (Form 4)


Mr. Dee hands over a lost and found wallet.
1. “Sir I must check this wallet in your presence. Can you be my
witness?” (Finder say: OK)

2. May I have your particulars.
3. Record all details of wallet and content in Lost and Found Report
(Form 4).
4. “Sir I will keep the wallet in a safe place under lock and key. Can
you please verify the recorded details and sign as a witness?”

Inject 4,5 Visitor leaving the factory trying to bring out electronic components
belonging to the company.
1. “Sir, do you have a Gate Pass for these items?”
2. If no. “Sir I will have to seize these items and detain you.”
3. In the guard house I will keep the items in a safe place and lock
them up.
4. I will call Control to inform the Supervisor and Management to
call the police and send backup.
5. When the police arrive, brief the police and hand over the visitor
and the electronic component to the police.
6. Record in Pocketbook, Update Occurrence book and put-up incident
report.

Activity 4 - Attend to Phone calls.


Inject 1, 2 - A reporter from STT calls to ask about CCTV on our premises.
1. “Good morning, I’m SO xxx from JoJo Electronics, how can I help
you?”
2. “Sir/Mdm. I’ not authorized to answer this question. Can you
hold on to the line while I check with my supervisor and transfer
the call?”
3. Check with the supervisor and if he is ok to answer the call.
4. If ok, “Sir/Mdm. I will transfer your call to my supervisor now.”

Inject 3, 4 Supervisor not in


1. “Sir/Mdm. my supervisor is not available now; would you like to
leave a message? (use Form 5)
2. Confirm details and information with the caller.
3. Handover the message to the supervisor.

Activity 5 Perform Patrol Duties


Inject 1 Prepare for Patrol duty.

1. Make sure I have my pen and Pocketbook with me and draw out
Walkie talkie (Call), Mobile Patrol device (Scan the code) and
Torchlight (Switch on and off).
2. Record in Security Equipment issue Book (Form 6)

3. Perform checks on the equipment.
4. Record in Occurrence book (Form 2) and Pocketbook (Form 7)
when I go for patrol.

Inject 2 During Patrol


1. To scan clocking point along the patrol route.
2. Check ceiling lights.
3. Check doors are normal.
4. Check fire extinguisher.
5. Check for any abnormalities.

Inject 3 Door left open.


1. Check the area for suspicious persons or signs of break in.
2. If nothing, close door, and update control
3. C1 to control, location Block 1 level 1, Management Office door
was left ajar. I’ve checked the area and found nothing suspicious.
I have closed the door and will continue my patrol.
4. Record in Pocketbook, Occurrence Book, and put-up incident
report.

Inject 4 Contractor without pass and in wrong area.


1. Ask for his pass. “Excuse me sir, Can I see your Photo ID please?”
2. Scan his photo ID.
“Excuse me sir, you are now in Area B, but your access allows you for
Area C. You have made an unauthorized entry, and I will have to detain
you. Please follow me to the Guard house.”
Report to Control. “C1 to Control. While patrolling at Area B, I
saw a man in contractor outfit with no contractor pass and he
can only access to Area C. I will bring him to the guard house
now. Over”
3. Record in Pocketbook, Occurrence Book, and put-up incident
report.

Inject 5 - Faulty Access Card Reader showing flashing indicator light.


1. Report to Control. “C1 to Control. I’m in Area B and the card
reader is faulty. I’m checking it over.”
2. Carry out trouble shooting.
a. Open and close the door.
b. Check door for obstruction.
c. Check if the door can close properly.

3. If unable to resolve, update Control to inform supervisor and
maintenance. “C1 to Control, I’m unable to repair the card
reader. Please inform Supervisor and maintenance over.”
4. Record in Pocketbook, Occurrence Book, and put-up incident
report.
Inject 6 Fire Hazard during Patrol Emergency exit door blocked

1. Report to Control about the fire hazard. “C1 to Control, Location


Blk 1, Level 1, there are some empty boxes obstructing the
emergency exit and passageway. Any instructions for me? Over
2. Remove the fire hazard and report to Control. “C1 to Control, the
boxes have been removed. I will resume patrol over.”
3. Record in Pocketbook, Occurrence Book, and put-up incident
report.

Inject 7 Suspected Chemical Agent


1. I suspect this could be a chemical agent threat.
2. Cover my nose and mouth with a cloth!
3. Evacuate people in the room.
4. Inform Control. “C1 to Control. Location Blk 1 #02-01, there is a
strange smell and I suspect it is a chemical agent threat. Several
people have breathing difficulties and two people collapsed. I
have evacuated the room. Please inform supervisor,
management, call the police and SCDF. Send back up to bring
cordon tape and Danger sign. Over”
5. When backup arrives, I will cordon off the area using the cordon
tape at waist level and place the danger sign to warn people not
to enter.
6. Record in Pocketbook, Occurrence Book, and put-up incident
report.

Inject 8 After Patrol, return to Guard House


1. I will record in the Occurrence book (Form 2) the events that
took place during my patrol.
Activity 6 Intrusion Alarm
Inject 1 Intrusion Alarm sounded.
1. Check the Intrusion Alarm to see which the red light is indicated
(Area C)
2. Monitor the CCTV in the area for signs of intrusion.
3. Inform Supervisor and Management of the incident.

4. Call the Central Alarm Monitoring Station by phone. “Good
morning, I’m SO XXX from JoJo Electronics, Building Code: 1234.
Password: Tango Papa. Intrusion alarm has been activated. We
are checking and will update you in due course. May I have your
ID please? Thank you.
Inject 2 After checking, it was found to be a false alarm.

1. Reset the Intrusion Alarm system in the Control room by entering


password 1188.
2. Call the Central Alarm Monitoring Station about the false alarm.
“Good morning, I’m SO XXX from JoJo Electronics, Building Code:
1234. Password: Tango Papa. Intrusion alarm activation has been
found to be a false alarm and I have reset the system. May I have
your ID please?”
3. Inform Supervisor and management.
4. Record in Fault report book.
5. Record in Pocketbook, Occurrence Book, and put-up incident report.

Activity 7 Handing over Duty what must you do?


Inject 1 You’re reporting off duty.
I will hand over duty to the incoming SO:
1. All the equipment, books, and files
2. I will brief SO in the incidents that happened during my shift.

 At guard house, a visitor was handed over to Police as he did not have a
Gate Pass for the items being brought out.
 Blk. 1 level 1 Management office door left ajar, nothing suspicious and
door closed.
 A faulty access card reader at Area B, supervisor and maintenance
informed.
 Blk. 1 level 1 passageway and emergency exit blocked by empty boxes
have been removed.
 Unit #02-01 strange smell in the air, two casualties sent to hospital.
 A Contractor made an unauthorised entry into Area B, handed over to
supervisor.
 There is one outstanding matter for follow-up action,
 One Lost & Found report with case property (hand over wallet).
