Average
An average or arithmetic mean of given data is the sum of
the given observations divided by number of observation.
If we have to find out the average of 10, 15, 25 and 30, then

Weighted Average
The concept of weighted average is used when we have
two or more groups whose individual averages
known,
Suppose in a class, there are 2 students of 20 yr
3of 21 yr, 4 of 22 yr, and 5 of 23 yr, then their average age

In other words, weights are the fractions of the numbers in
that category with respect to the total students in that
class. This average is also called the weighted average of
that class.
