REPORT ON:
MODEL ROCKET
BY SANSKRUTI DAS
BRANCH:METALLURGY AND MATERIAL ENGINEERING
Introduction
➢ Model rocketry is a thrilling and educational hobby that brings the excitement of aerospace exploration to
enthusiasts of all ages. It involves designing, building, and launching small-scale rockets made from lightweight
materials. These rockets are powered by solid rocket engines and are designed to achieve safe and stable flight.
Model rocketry not only provides a fun and engaging experience but also serves as a valuable tool for teaching
principles of physics, engineering, and aerodynamics

Technical Aspects

• Lightweight body tube made from

AIRFRAME cardboard, plastic, or composite materials.

• Aerodynamically shaped, usually made

NOSE CONE from plastic.
FINS • Stabilizers attached to the rocket's base,
made from balsa wood or plastic.

• Structure that secures the rocket

ENGINE MOUNT engine, typically made from cardboard or
plastic.

ROCKET ENGINE • Solid fuel engineproviding thrust, classified

by size and power.

• Launch pad and electronic ignition

LAUNCH SYSTEM for safe and controlled launch.
Significance in Daily Life

➢ Educational Value: It offers practical lessons in physics, engineering, and aerodynamics, making it a powerful
teaching tool.
➢ Skill Development: Involves problem-solving, critical thinking, and hands-on skills.

Key Objectives
➢ Designing: Creating a stable rocket using basic aerodynamic principles.
➢ Building: Assembling components with precision to ensure functionality.
➢ Testing: Launching and analyzing performance for improvements.
➢ Recovery: Implementing systems to safely retrieve rockets after flight.
➢ Optimizing: Iterating designs to achieve higher altitudes, better stability, and reliable recovery.

Types of rocket:
1. Beginner Rockets
2. High Power Rocket
3. Advance Rocket
4. Intermidiate Rocket
5. Expeimental Rocket
Conclusion
