MAC OS INSTALLATION
Requirements: macOS 10.14 (Mojave) or later
1) Open the RCF Updater disk image (DMG) file from the downloaded ZIP file and drag “RCF Updater” to the
“Applications” folder.
2) RCF Updater will appear in your Mac applications, double click on it to launch it.
2) Connect your RCF speaker to your PC through the service port using an appropriate USB cable (on ART 9-AX,
SUB AX models: micro USB). As soon as the speaker is detected, the following screen will appear:
In case the current speaker firmware version is newer than the latest displayed on RCF Updater, your version of
RCF Updater is outdated. In this case, please go to the RCF website and download the latest version of RCF
Updater. Otherwise, if you proceed with the firmware update, the speaker firmware version will be downgraded
to the one displayed as “Latest” on RCF Updater.

3) Click on the “Update” button. The following pop up will be shown:
4) As soon as the “Start” button is clicked, the speaker will be automatically rebooted, then the firmware update
procedure will begin and may take up to a few minute to complete.
The firmware update is now completed and your speaker is ready to play.
Troubleshooting:
If anything goes wrong during the firmware update (e.g., the USB cable is detached or the power goes out) an
error screen will be shown. In such a case, a manual firmware update may be required to restore the speaker.
Before to start, the speaker must be rebooted in firmware update mode by powering up while pressing the
volumer encoder knob.
3) Click on “Start” button. If your speaker is in firmware update mode, RCF Updater will detect it and allow the
update to begin, otherwise it will show an error message.
Error message: speaker was not detected. In Speaker detected. Click “YES”
this case, follow the instructions to reboot it to start the firmware update
in firmware update mode procedure
After the “YES” button is clicked, the firmware update will start. Steps 4) and 5) are the same as the ones in page
4 and page 5.
