hello!
This is a very exciting time of year as we head into the winter months and look
forward to a new year and spring just around the corner. We have added a couple
of new programs: Stay and Play, which will start in January and offer an opportunity
to continue developing literacy and sensory skills, following our Toddler, Baby, and
Family storytimes; and 1,000 Words in English & More!, a new addition to our existing
language-learning programs providing a supportive and encouraging space for
English language-learners to practice and gain confidence in their English speaking,
reading, and listening skills. We have also added new games to our very popular
board game collection. Additional details can be found on page 2 of this brochure for
these new programs and game offerings.
This time of year also brings back two crowd-pleasers with our Gardening Fair on
February 23 and free seed library to soon follow, as well as our 10th annual Peeps
Diorama Exhibit Contest in early March. Read on to learn more!

We are also very excited to be sharing with you in early 2025 our new Strategic Plan.
Staff have been working extremely hard on prioritizing goals which will guide our
direction for the next five years. This will align with community input and feedback
we have received over the last couple of years, ensuring this library continues to
serve as an essential role in your lives.

Finally, the end of a year is a good time to remind ourselves of everything which
makes us grateful. Personally, I am grateful for the unwavering support of my friends
and family. Professionally, I am grateful for our Library Advisory Board, whose
advocacy for the library is invaluable, the Friends of the Longmont Library for
funding essential programs and resources that we could not provide without their
support, and our dedicated staff, who serve this community with tireless commitment
every day.

Whether in person or online, we look forward to seeing and serving you!

Warm Regards,

Jon D. Solomon
Longmont Public Library Director
