2022 ICT Mentorship (YT)

2022 ICT Mentorship (YT)

Traders are professional losers who turn most losses into winners.
Top Down Analysis
1. Weekly: to define bias
Factors that will impact the weekly candle
1) Seasonal Tendencies (last week of April going into May — stocks and index futures
generally drop)
2) Interest Rates (when they are increasing = stronger dollar)
3) Earning Seasons & the release of quarterly earnings reports (a lot of volatility)
4) Price Action on a Weekly and Daily Chart (What is the market most likely to draw
towards?)
2. Daily TF: to define bias (PO3); look for weekly range (00:00 NY Mon — FRI close and the
beginning of FRI’s trading 16:00)
Keys To Daily Bias:
- Every day bias is unrealistic.
- Determine the likely Weekly expansion.
- Look for obvious liquidity in that direction.
- Identify IMB in price delivery Top Down.
- Focus on the High or Medium calendar event dates.
- Look for directional price runs in Killzones intraday.
PO3
Power of 3:
Step 1: Define bias on Daily TF
Step 2: Mark TDO on m15 TF 00:00 NY
Long: price forms Judas Swing; everything below TDO is in a Discount

Short: everything above TDO is in a Premium

ICT also look marks 08:30 am NY session Open (has the same logic as TDO)
1. 1h, m15, m5: liquidity (Old lows/highs), FVG
How to determine draw on liquidity?
Liquidity is the short term high/low with stops above or below it or an IMB in that same range
of PA.
Internal range liquidity: looking for short term lows and highs inside a price leg that we
retrace back into.
A) Short Term high/low
B) An Imbalance
Where to look for liquidity?
- Highs and Lows of Asian Session
- Highs and Lows of London Session
- Highs and Lows of NY Session
- Intra-day Highs and lows before Equity Opening
1. m1/m2/m3: entry; wait for market structure shift between 8:30 am - 00:00 NY time
Time (NY)
7:00-9:00 pm Asia
00:00 NY DO
2:00-5:00 am London KZ
7:00-10:00 am NY
8:30 am - 11:00 am NY AM session; usual time for operations, but sometimes it can be
extended to NY lunch (12:00 pm). He doesn’t take trades after noon. It’s better to wait till 13:30-
16:00 (14:00 - 15:00 usually forms setup in the afternoon trend)
9:30 am Equity Opening
12:00-13:00 am Lunch time (no trades)
13:30-16:30 Index Futures PM session. He looks for price to form swing H/L; this time algorithm
macro starts running.
16:30 close charts
2:00-5:00 am — if there was a big move during overnight don't expect a lot

Setup:
1. Liquidity Grab

2. Market Structure Shift

3. FVG

It is formed by 3 candles. Candle №2 has FVG. Entry is made when price returns above the high of
the 3rd candle, stop is above candle №1.

If there are several, we choose the one, which is in discount for long and premium for short; Put fib
on the displacement leg.
Short
Long

FVG+OB in OTE — gold standard of this pattern.

If there is no IMB just use Premium/Discount to enter after MSS (Market Structure Shift)
STRUCTURE
ICT doesn't look simply for HH+HL structure for bullish market to enter (for up trend). Does the
market has a reason to go up for BSL or Buy Stops or to rebalance an IMB (FVG)?
OR
Is it likely to go lower to sweep out STL/H (Short Term Lows/Highs), FVG?
What it is likely to do now?
Interbank Traders do not view Market Structure with Retail's method. They view price in terms of
Liquidity and Imbalances. This is the 1st priority to look for when we look at a chart.

HTF bias: short. Red lines denote HTF FVG.

ICT calls this False Bull Flag. Retail sees this as:
But what price actually does is get reaction from bullish OB to rebalance FVG; bearish structure
isn’t broken.
High which rebalance an old IMB is called ITH (Intermediate Term High), between STH (Short Term
High. High which rebalance 1D imb is LTH (Long Term High)

m4: entry example.

Fib for TP:
ICT uses fib after LTL is broken to take profit. Why he puts it on this swing in particular?
Fib settings:

Stop Management:
ICT takes partials but doesn't rush to move his SL.
When price moves 50% of the expected Targeted range, the SL can be trimmed by 25%.
When price moves 75% of the expected Targeted range, the SL can be trimmed to BE.
Analysis Example #1
1. Daily TF:

2. 1h:
Price drops down first and then up to take the buy stops and increase the force of move
3. 15m:
