Before continuing to our next lesson, let

us first review our previous lesson. Yes Ma’am!

We have, adding two-digit numbers to

one-digit number.

Do you still remember on how to add

two-digit numbers to one-digit
number?

Very good, children! 33

I have here some numbers for you to 47
review. 19

Very good children! You can still

remember our previous lesson.
 Review
Give yourself a fireworks clap.
B. Activity Proper

 Motivation Kids do you want to play? Yes Ma’am!

Very well, because today, we will going (The children will react.)
to have a game!
Do you know what I am holding? Yes! Those are fruits.

Yes, these are fruits! What kind of fruits Apple, Orange, Strawberries
are these? and Grapes

Yes, these are apple, orange, strawberry

and grapes.

So, what have you noticed about these Numbers

fruits? What do you see inside?

Very good! There are numbers inside.

Are the numbers the same or not? No.

Alright, now, we have to compare the

numbers inside the fruits. Let’s
compare first the apple and orange.

What number is written in apple? Forty Ma’am.

Very good! How about in orange? Thirty Ma’am.

Correct! Very good!

There is a 40 numerical number written (The learners will stand up.)

in apple and 30 written in orange.
Between these two what is the greater
number? Stand up if you think apple
has the greater number.

Alright! You can now sit down. How (The learners will stand up.)
about those who says orange is
greater? Please stand up.

Okay, you can now sit. Very good Because 40 is greater than
children. Those who stand in apple are 30.
correct. How can you say that apple is
greater than orange?

Yes, very good. 40 is greater than 30.

When we say greater, it means it is
larger or higher.
Another one, children. I have here
strawberry and grapes.

What number is written in strawberry?

45
Yes, it’s 45.

How about in grapes?

Very good. Its 35. 35

Very well children. You identified the

numbers correct.

So what fruit is holding the lesser

number? Stand up if you think
strawberry holds the lesser number. (The learners will stand up.)

Very well, how about those who says

grapes holds the lesser number.
(The learners will stand up.)
Alright! Those who stood up in grapes
are correct. We are seeking for lesser
number. When we say lesser, it means
small or lower number. Therefore, 35 is
less than 45.

Alright! Since you already know how to

compare numbers and identifying what
is greater or lesser one. Let us all
compare all of these fruits.

Among these fruits which has the

greatest number. Is it the apple with 40
inside, orange with 30 inside,
strawberry with 45 inside or grapes
with 35 inside?
Stand up those who think apple has the
greatest number.

Those who think orange has the (The learners will stand up.)
greatest number.
(The learners will stand up.)
Those who think strawberry has the
greatest number.

How about those who think grapes has (The learners will stand up.)
the greatest number.

Those who stand up in strawberry was (The learners will stand up.)
very good. You really know the value of
the numbers. Yes! Strawberry has the
greatest number.

Why do you think strawberry has the

greatest number?

Very good! Because 45 is greater than (A learner will answer.)

40, 35 and 30.

Later, we will going to learn on how can

we identify the amount of each
number.

Did you enjoy our mini game children?

Did you have fun standing and sitting?

Very well, children. (The learners will answer.)

Now, we will learn on how to identify

the greater and lesser number.

What have you seen, children? (The learners will respond.)

How many numbers have you seen in a (The learners will answer.)
row?

Correct, very good. There are 4

numbers in each row, with different
colors.
(A learner will answer.)
What colors you have seen?

Very good. There is red, green, blue and

yellow. (A learner will answer.)

What else do you noticed?

Yes, there is a symbol between the red

number and the green number. (A learner will answer.)

What do you think is this symbol?

(>)
(A learner will answer.)
Alright, this is a greater than symbol.

What does this symbol mean?

This symbol tells that the number in (A learner will answer.)

color red should be higher, bigger or
greater than the number on the right.

Are all symbols just the same?

No, they are not all the same. There is

one symbol that looks opposite than
the symbol of greater than.

(<) This symbol is called less than.

So, what does less than symbol mean?

It means that the number on your left is (A learner will answer.)

lower, smaller or lesser than the
number on the right.

So, what do we need to do to make

every number sentence correct?

Alright, we will going to identify the

correct answer based on the number in
red and the symbol given.

Let’s start with number 1.

We have
26 > 13 35 40

So, what is the number in the left with

color red?
Yes, its 26. How about the symbol?

Very good, it is greater than.

It means, 26 is greater than the number

on the left.

We need to choose the number that is

lower than 26, because 26 should be
the bigger one.

Among this numbers what is lower than

26?

Very goof it is 13.

For the next number. We have

32 > 35 30 34

Alright, what have you noticed about

the numbers?

They all started with number 3.

So, what is the number in the left?

Yes, it’s 32. How about the symbol?

It’s still greater than.

So, we need to look for the number

that is lower than 32, it is because 32
should be the greater one.

In this set of number which one is

lower than 32?

Very good, it is 30.

For number three to five. I want you to

go to the board and circle your answer.

(Teacher will call three learners.)

Very good! You all did very well.

Please give yourselves a fireworks clap.

Alright children, I have here a symbol of

greater than and less than. This symbol
can be interchange. It looks like two
pieces of sticks and one of each end has
been stick together and the other end
formed like a big mouth.

When the mouth opens on your left

this symbol is greater than. Then if it
opens on your right the symbol is less
than.

Did you get it?

Very good.

If it opens on your right, it is?

Very good, it is less than.

How about if it opens on your left?

Yes, very well it is greater than.

I also have another symbol here. A two

stick that are parallel. They don’t meet.
What do you think is this symbol?

Yes, very good. It is an equal symbol.

An equal symbol is used when two

numbers are the same which means
they are equal.

Alright, look at here.

What number is this?

Yes, it is 30. How about this one?

Very good its 45.

So, what do think is the correct symbol

that we will going to put between these
numbers?

Very good, it is less than. Because the

bigger number is in your right.
Okay, another one, children. What is
the number you saw?

Yes, its 50. How about the other one.

Very good, it’s 40.

So, we have here 50 and 40.

What do think is the correct symbol we

will put?

Yes, it is greater than, because 50 is

greater than 40.

Alright, last example. What number is

this?

Yes, its 70. How about this other one?

Very good. Another 70.

So, what symbol do you think is

correct?

Yes, equal symbol. Why is that?

Very good. Equal because the number

are both 70, which means they are they
same, so they are equal.

Since, you already know how to

compare numbers and put the correct
symbol. We will have a group activity.

I will divide the class into three groups.

Each group will have a manila paper
with different set of numbers. What
you all need to do is to put the correct
symbol in each number. Cooperation is
very must in this activity.

Alright, since you already have your

group. I will distribute the manila paper.

Group 1
1. 90 ____ 30
2. 47 ____ 78
3. 80 ____ 80
4. 65 ____ 30
5. 28 ____ 45
Group 2
1. 76 ____ 20
2. 30 ____ 40
3. 64 ____ 29
4. 10 ____ 10
5. 37 ____ 89

Group 3
1. 50 ____ 30
2. 48 ____ 30
3. 90 ____ 86
4. 56 ____ 56
5. 43 ____ 90

Are you all done, children?

Okay, pass all your manila paper. I will

paste it on the black board.

We will all check your works.

Very good children. You truly

understand our lesson today.
C.

What do you see in front?

Yes, there are different numbers inside

the box.

As what you noticed the numbers

inside the box become higher. It is
already three-digit numbers. However,
the way we will compare is the same.
We need to look the first digit number,
then the second digit number and lastly
the third digit number. Do you
understand, children?

Very well.
