Impact of Fast Fashion on the
Behaviors of Pilar College Students
Rationale Fast fashion is the rapid production of cheap clothing that
is based on trends in catwalk or celebrity culture, which
has a significant impact on consumer behavior. It
encourages a ‘throw-away’ attitude, where clothes are
discarded easily due to their low cost which can have
significant environmental and ethical implications.

The study aims to explore the impacts of fast fashion


within the context of Pilar College students. It may
examine how fast fashion influences their purchasing
decisions, and their behaviors toward sustainability. The
findings could provide valuable insights into consumer
behavior among this demographic and could inform
strategies to promote more sustainable and ethical
fashion consumption practices.
Objectives 1. What are the factors that contribute to the grade
12 students' partaking in fast fashion?
2. Does gender have a significant role in the impact of
fast fashion of grade 12 students?
3. How do the students dispose of old fast fashion clothing?

Independent Variables: Social media influence, Peer influence,


Working Variables Brand loyalty, Personal style preferences, Gender
Dependent Variables: Sustainability approaches, Purchasing
decisions
The target respondents of this study would be 20 Grade
Target 12 students at Pilar College of Zamboanga City. These
Respondents students are selected because they represent the
demographic most likely to be influenced by fast fashion
trends and consumption patterns, given their gender,

social context, and exposure to media and peer
influences. These grade 12 students would be the
primary participants whose insights and experiences
would seek to gain insights and analyze to understand
the effects of fast fashion on their behaviors regarding
fast fashion including their purchasing decisions,
sustainability approaches, and the potential impact of
fast fashion consumption on the social, economic, and
environmental well-being.
