Introduction to Concepts (5 minutes)

- **Aim: To stir curiosity and initiate thinking about why listening is


important

Present a picture and allow the students to analyze and express their
thoughts about it.

Analysis
Group Activity and Discussion (15 minutes)

- **Aim: To deepen understanding of the four types of listening:


appreciative, empathic, comprehensive and critical/analytical listening.

Ask the students to come up with a collaborative definition of


appreciative, empathic, comprehensive and critical/analytical listening.
Have each group come up with one example of each type. 10 minutes will
be given for their preparation and 2 minutes for the presentation.

Abstraction:
Discussion (3 minutes)

**Aim: To foster understanding and application of the concepts


discussed.

Discuss further the four types of listening.


Application
Real-world Relevance (5 minutes)

**Aim: To make students see the relevance and application of the


concepts in their lives.

Allow students to express their thoughts on the importance of listening.


Encourage them to reflect on their experiences.

Assessment (3 minutes)

**Aim: To evaluate the understanding of the students.

Provide a short quiz about the four types of listening.
