The Government is committed to the Welfare and development of all segments of the
Society. Pension amount is a major welfare measure to ameliorate the hardships of the poor
and vulnerable sections of the society, particularly the old and infirm, widows, and persons
with disability etc., to secure a dignified life. The objective of the Government is to ensure
that eligible persons receive pensions and that ineligible persons do not receive pensions
unduly. In the reference 2nd cited, a pilot verification has been taken up in one village/ward
secretariat in each district and found 563 ineligible pensions (5%).

In pursuance of the reference 1st cited, SERP has validated the pensioner's eligibility
as per the scheme guidelines and found ineligible pensions. The lists of ineligible pensions
are kept in MPDO / Municipal Commissioner Login. The System generated notices are
available in WEA/WDS login.
All MPDOs/Municipal Commissioners are directed to handover the notices to
pensioners through Village/Ward Secretariat staff immediately cancelling such pensions as
per procedure prescribed in the reference cited. If any pensioner refuses to take notice or does
not submit a reply within the stipulated time, their pension shall be kept in hold.
