Question 1
1
The value of g on the moon is 6 th of the value of g on the earth. If a man can jump 1.5 m high on the earth, on the moon, he can jump
up to a height of:

A 4.5 m

B 9m

C 6m

D 7.5 m

Answer: B

Explanation:
We have
1
g moon= 6 of g earth
10
g moon= 6

On the earth
m
g=10 s2 . H=1.5 m

We know that.

v=2 gh

v=2 101.5
v=$$30\sqrt$$

And v=u.

So u= $$30\sqrt\frac{m}{sec}$$

And on the moon

h= $$\frac{u^2}{gh}$$

h= $$\frac{30\times 6}{20}$$

h=9m

ratio of the numbers of the chairs to the number of tables purchased?

A 5:2

B 55 : 6

C 5:1

D 55 : 4

Answer: B

Explanation:
Cost of 12 tables= $$12\times 50$$ = Rs.600 (cost of 1 table= Rs.50 )

Cost of chairs= 5000- 600= 4400

In Rs. 40 =1 chair

In Rs. 4400= $$4400\div 40= 110$$

Ratio of the number of the tables to the numbers of chairs purchased= 12:110 = 6:55

Hence the required ratio = 55:6

Explanation:
LCM(28, 35) = 140 litres is the total capacity of tank.

A pipe empties 5 liters in 1hour and Pipe B fills 4 liters in 1hour.

In 2 hours A and B pipes empties 1 liter.

[ It can understand by,

A’s 1 hour work and B's next hour( 2nd hour) work,

i.e, ($$\frac{-1}{28}$$)+($$\frac{1}{35}$$)

=$$\frac{-1}{140}$$

Here,( - ve sign indicates emptying the tank)]

From this we can easily conclude that,

Every 2 hours empties both pipes together 1 liter.

For emptying full tank of 140litre takes,

If pipe A was started emptying the tank first

Then answer will like this,

For emptying of 135 liters takes time 2x135 = 270 hours and remaining 5liters emptied in 1hour by pipe A

half the job and leaves and then B works alone and completes the rest of the work, it takes 25 daysin all to complete the work. If B is
moreefficient than A, how many days wouldit have taken B to do the work by herself?

A 18

B 22

C 20

D 15

Answer: C

Explanation:
Let A took 'A' days to complete the task and B took 'B' days

then Total time taken = $$\frac{AB}{A+B}$$=12 ------------ Equation (i)

However, A alone taken time = 'A' days will be $$\frac{A}{2}$$ days.

Same for B alone taken time = 'B' days will be $$\frac{B}{2}$$ days.

Total Time = $$\frac{A}{2}$$ + $$\frac{B}{2}$$ = 25 days.

A+B= 50 days -------------------- Equation (ii)

By (i) and (ii) equation AB = 600 ----------------- Equation (iii)

A,B =20,30

Because B is more efficient takes less days 80.

Question 63

The length of one side of a rhombus is 13 cm and one of the diagonals is 10 cm. What is the length of the other diagonal?

A 24 cm

B 23 cm

C 25 cm

D 22 cm

Answer: A

Explanation:
Diagonals of a rombus bisect eachother at 90°
One side rhombus = 13 cm
length of one diagonal = 10 cm
We will apply here Pythagoras Theorem
(h²) = (b²) + (p²)
on putting the values in the equation and then solving it we get,
13² = b² + 5²
169 = b² + 25
b² = 169 -25
b² = 144
(Take Square root on both sides)
b= 12

As perpendicular(p)= 12cm
therefore diagonal = 2 p= 2$$\times$$12 = 24 cm

C (1,3,5), (6,4,9), (2,7,8)

D (1,3,5), (2,4,9), (6,7,8)

Answer: D

Explanation:
Answer is:- (1,3,5), (2,4,9), (6,7,8)

1/3/5 :- Two Different Shapes is overdrawn over one another Shape.

For Eg:- In,1st image we have circle over triangle. In, 3rd image we have Circle over Square. In, 5th we have triangle over the Pentagon

2/4/9 :- Two Same Shape is over Another

For Eg:- In 2nd circle shape is over another circle then in 4th image a Square is over another Square then in 9 a pentagone is over
another pentagone.

6/7/8 :- A shape is drawn inside another shape but it is Touching all the corner of another shape from inside.

For Eg:- In 6th, A triangle is exactly inscribed(inside) and touching all the corner of outer circle. Similary, in 7th a Circle is Touching all
corner of Traingle from inside. Simliary is with 8th.

Answer:- Both 1 and 2 Conclusion follows.

Statement is positive also both conclusion are also positive

From Conclusion one is positive and is similar to statement that time is not in anyones control. So, positive conculsion will always
follows.

From Conclusion says we have to keep moving ahead and forget the bad experiences. it is not in negative sentence. it is give a action
that we have to keep moving ahead. So this condition will also follows.

Hence, Both Conditions Follows.

Question 69

Rathin is now 16 years old while his cousin is 7 years. After how many years will Rathin’s age be 1.5 times that of his cousin?

A 12

B 11

C 9

D 10

Answer: B

Explanation:
Present age of Rathin = 16 years.

Present age of his Cousin = 7 years.

Let x be the number of years after which Rathin's age will be 1.5 times of his cousin's age.

16 + x = 1.5 (7+x)

16 - 10.5 = 1.5x - x

5.5 = 0.5 x

x = $$\frac{5.5}{0.5}$$ = 11

Therefore, after 11 years Rathin's age will be 1.5 times his cousin's age.
