Abstract
The Anti-Theft Floor Mat system represents an innovative security solution designed to
proactively detect unauthorized access and potential security threats in sensitive environments. By
integrating advanced sensor technologies including IR sensors, metal detectors, LED-LDR
configurations, and an ESP32 controller, the system provides comprehensive real-time monitoring
and instant threat notification mechanisms. The proposed system leverages Internet of Things
(IoT) technology to create a sophisticated security apparatus that can detect human presence,
motion, and metallic object intrusion with high precision and reliability. Through seamless
integration with a Telegram mobile application, the system ensures immediate alerting of
designated security personnel, thereby enhancing overall security infrastructure and response
capabilities.

The system's unique architectural design combines multiple sensor modalities to create a robust
and multifaceted security detection framework. By utilizing IR sensors for motion detection, metal
sensors for weapon identification, and LED-LDR configurations for precise entry monitoring, the
solution offers a comprehensive approach to threat detection. The ESP32 microcontroller serves
as the central processing unit, enabling efficient data collection, analysis, and transmission across
IoT networks. This integrated approach allows for rapid and accurate identification of potential
security breaches, significantly reducing response times and minimizing potential risks associated
with unauthorized access or weapon introduction into secured spaces. The technological
implementation of the Anti-Theft Floor Mat system demonstrates remarkable versatility and
adaptability across various security-critical environments. By leveraging cutting-edge sensor
technologies and IoT communication protocols, the system can be seamlessly deployed in diverse
settings such as high-security facilities, government installations, corporate premises, and sensitive
institutional environments. The modular design ensures scalability and customization, allowing
security administrators to configure detection thresholds and notification protocols according to
specific organizational requirements and threat perception levels.

1.Introduction
Security is a paramount concern in today’s world. The Anti-Theft Floor Mat system aims to
enhance security measures by integrating IoT-enabled components for real-time detection and alert
mechanisms. This system ensures prompt identification of unauthorized access and weapon
detection, offering a robust and scalable solution for various applications such as banks, offices,
and residential buildings.

1.1 Motivation
The increasing frequency of security breaches and weapon-related incidents necessitates a reliable,
scalable, and cost-effective solution for real-time detection and notification.

1.2 Background

The proposed system enhances security measures by providing:

• Real-time detection of unauthorized access.

• Weapon detection using metal sensors.
• Instant notifications via Telegram.
• Scalable and cost-effective IoT integration.

1.3LITERATURE SURVEY

• Smart IoT Security Solutions (IJET, 2020): Focused on IoT for real-time monitoring.
Lacked metal detection.
• IR Sensor-Based Intrusion Detection (IJCRT, 2019): Provided motion detection but
lacked advanced notification mechanisms.
• Metal Detection Systems for Public Safety (IJIT, 2021): Emphasized metal detection but
did not integrate IoT-based alert systems.
• LDR-LED Systems for Motion Tracking (IJET, 2018): Efficient for small-scale
applications but had limited scalability.
• ESP32 in IoT Security (IJCRT, 2022): Highlighted ESP32’s role in IoT but lacked
comprehensive application.

1.4 PROBLEM STATEMENT

Existing security systems are often expensive and fail to integrate motion detection, metal
detection, and IoT-based real-time notifications in a single framework. Traditional security
mechanisms predominantly depend on human surveillance and discrete security components,
which are inherently prone to human error, fatigue, and operational limitations.

The current landscape of security infrastructure is characterized by significant limitations in threat

detection and response mechanisms, creating substantial vulnerabilities in various institutional
environments
2. METHODOLOGY
• Sensors: IR sensor for motion detection, metal detector for weapon detection, and LDR-
LED for access tracking.
• Controller: ESP32 processes sensor inputs and manages IoT connectivity.
• Communication: Telegram for real-time notifications.
• System Workflow:
o Detect presence on the mat.
o Check for metallic objects.
o Notify concerned authorities through Telegram.

ARDUINO SOFTWARE

INTRODUCTION TO THE ARDUINO IDE

•The Arduino is a single-board microcontroller solution for many DIY projects, we will look at
the Integrated Development Environment, or IDE, that is used to program it. Once the installer has
downloaded, go ahead and install the IDE. Arduino IDE is an open source software that is mainly
used for writing and compiling the code into the Arduino Module.

•It is an official Arduino software, making code compilation too easy that even a common person
with no prior technical knowledge can get their feet wet with the learning process.
