Block Out Time on the Schedule

Scenario: Dr. Buckwalter has a minor emergency and is not able to make it into the clinic today.
He asked Dr. Whalen to cover his messages for him. Block time off in Dr. Whalen’s schedule in
the morning and afternoon so she can address Dr. Buckwalter’s messages for the day.

Appointment blocks:

Date: 6/18/2020
Times: 11:00 am and 5:00 pm
Duration: 15 minutes for each block
Reason: Miscellaneous

1: Click on 'Schedules' module.


2: Click on 'Provider: Selected Dr. Paul Buckwalter' field.
3: Click on 'Select a provider: Dr. Alexis Whalen'.
4: Click on 'Break entry' button.
5: Click on 'Date & time' button.
6: Click on 'Increase hour' button.
7: Click on 'Increase hour' button.
8: Click on 'Increase hour' button.
9: Click on 'Done' button.
10: Click on 'Select reason' dropdown.
11: Click on 'Select reason: Miscellaneous'.
12: Click on 'Description' field.
13: Enter 'Messages' in 'Description' field.
14: Click on 'Break entry' button.
15: Click on 'Break entry' button.
16: Click on 'Date & time' button.
17: Click on 'Decrease hour' button.
18: Click on 'Decrease hour' button.
19: Click on 'Decrease hour' button.
20: Click on 'am/pm' Icon.
21: Click on 'Done' button.
22: Click on 'Select reason' dropdown.
23: Click on 'Select reason: Miscellaneous'.
24: Click on 'Description' field.
25: Enter 'Messages' in 'Description' field.

Tips

 In some EHRclinic exercises, the Path window may obstruct areas you need to click. If
this happens, you can collapse the path within the window or click to hide it in the upper
left corner of the screen.
 When choosing dates by using the EHRclinic datepicker icon (calendar icon in date
fields), first select the month, then the year, and then the day.
 When using free-text, be sure that the data is typed exactly as it is written (punctuation,
capitalization, spelling, etc).
 Slashes and dashes do not need to be typed in date or number (Social Security, phone,
etc) fields.
 When adding free text in Practice Mode, it may be necessary to click outside of the text
box for EHRclinic to accept the entry and move to the next step.
