Training and competence: A system is in place to ensure employees have necessary skills
and knowledge to effectively do their job. This is of vital importance to ensure that all staff
have WHS skills and knowledge.
Measures could include:
required training completed to schedule
reduction in number of incidents related to inadequate/insufficient training
positive findings from survey or tests on competency and knowledge
Procedures: A system is in place for the development, implementation and review and
revision of effective operating and maintenance procedures. Procedures are key to ensuring
that all staff follow procedures at all times and consistently.
Measures could include:
procedures issued and reviewed and revised to schedule
number of procedures current and available on staff intranet.
reduction in number of incidents with cause(s) relating to inadequate procedures
