2.3 Starting Up

Before the starting up, the station responsible person must be sure the ensure all rules in the
manuals about dispenser, use, installations and areas.
All electrical and mechanical connections must be fixed for dispensers use.

ATTENTION! If the suction pressure, with open nozzle, is lower than ~ 0.2 bars, it may be
insufficient to discharge the draining chamber and LPG may leak through the monobloc vent
pipe. To bring the suction pressure back to a correct value, the suction of the pump inlet pipe
must be reduced.
If the suction pressure, with open nozzle, exceeds ~ 0.35 bars, this may result typically in a
loss on the flow rate.

Note: Shear valve has to be used at liquid line and vapor return pipe and it has to be approve
according to 5.7.2 of EN 14678-1:2013

2.4 Use of the Dispenser

The dispensers have been created and manufactured for gauging petrol, gasoil and kerosene,
all in accordance with type approval certificate/s, as provided for by legislation of the
destination country.

The dispenser has to be used in constant installations, that is service stations for refueling
vehicles. Used to meter LPG and pour them into vehicles tanks and/or legally-approved
containers, the dispenser is fixed to the ground and connected to one or more storage tanks.

Devices for power supply, control, metering and regulation are inside a frame which MUST
NEVER BE OPENED during dispenser operation. Any use different from the one for which
the dispenser has been designed and manufactured is to be considered IMPROPER.

2.5 Routine Maintenance

In the maintenance, personal must be able to sure that the feeding well filled by the silicic
sand and non-porous aggregate in order to prevent formation of explosive mixtures. If this can
not ensure by the anyway, LPG-tight wells may be used for prevention the explosion.

The maintenance carried out at regular intervals is responsibility of person for the filling
station. Only qualified technicians responsible for technical assistance in order to prevent
maintenance, allowing LPG dispensers to be kept in good condition and refueling operations
to be carried out in complete safety.

Maintenance operators must be use adequate safety protections.

The dispensers are hazardous-zone classified according to the probability of presence of

potentially explosive atmosphere.

The responsible for the maintenance, operators must know all measures to be adopted in order
to prevent any ignition causes.
2.6 Faults and malfunctioning

If any problems found at the time of dispensers operation, read the following table providing
guidelines for identifying the causes for to inform the authorized maintenance company.

Issues and possible reasons

• If motor does not start, the electric supply may absenced.

• If motor does not start but hums, maybe three pahes motor running on two phases
or condenser may damaged.
• If there is noise in dispenser due to vibration, pump has been overcharged because
of suction pipe narrowing, dirt in filter, suction valve blocked.
• If product does not flow from the delivery nozzle or there is neither pressure or
suction pressure, may sealing problems in suction line or tightness problems in
filter cover or by-pass blocked in open position.
• If the computing head starts metering on starting up the pump before beginning
refueling may sealing problems or leaking in the hydraulic circuit downstream
from the meter Delivery hose too long or damaged.
• If LPG dispenser delivers at low flow rate may pump overcharged because of
suction pipe narrowing, dirt in filter, suction valve blocked or by-pass blocked in
open position, dirt in filter, nozzle filter obstructed, pump/storage tank foot valve
blocked, storage tank vent blocked.
• If pump does not deliver correctly and there are suction difficulties whenever
pump starts up, may sealing problems on suction line, by-pass blocked in closed
position, pump/storage foot valve not tight.
• If sight glass empties after few hours of non-use of the LPG dispenser may
leaking problems in pipes.
• If LPG mixed with air flows through the sight glass, may suction flange loose, by-
pass cover/plug not tightened.
• If there are vibrations in pump-motor system, may fixing bolts loose or may pump
does not correctly.

KEYPAD USAGE AND PROGRAMS

I . ENTERING PRESET

You can enter amount or volume preset practically. There are 3 preset keys on keypad
for standard values for amount preset. The preset key values can be changed by related
service program. Also, you can use numerical keys for entering big or small quantities for the
amount or volume preset.

1.AMOUNT PRESET ADJUSTMENT :

There are two ways for entering amount preset

A-) BY USING PRESET KEYS:

Preset keys have standard values, designated in service program as frequently preferred
values by your customers.

Procedure:

• Nozzle(s) must be in its place before entering preset.

• Pressing a preset key, you will see the amount value for that key on top section
of display and symbol ‘-P-‘ in the middle.
• If you continue pressing any preset key, it will add that key value to this amount
and display.
• If you made a mistake when entering preset amount, then press CLR key and
restart entering correct value.
EXAMPLE :
1 5. 0 0 15.00 $ preset

-P-

Lets say the values for Preset1,Preset2,Preset3 key values are designated by service
program as 1.00, 5.00, 10.00.$ (friction is always 00 cent)

Your customer wants 15 dollars (or euro etc) delivery .Then you must press Preset3
key once and Preset2 key once and get 10+5=15

• Remove the correct nozzle(for multiproduct dispenser), if you see correct value
is entered as you wish on display.

• Now, display resets and Motor and solenoids will start automatically. Delivery
starts by pressing nozzle trigger.

• Product flow speed will be adjusted automatically and delivery will be stopped
at the exact value you adjusted.

B-) USING NUMERIC KEYS FOR AMOUNT PRESET:

If the value of amount preset is too large and will take much time to enter this value with
preset keys.

Follow the procedure :

• Be sure that nozzle is in its place before entering preset.

• Press ‘Enter’ key once and see ‘-P-‘ symbol on the middle section of display.
• Press numeric keys as most significant first, according to the value you wish to

Press ‘Enter’,’1’,’5’,’0’,’0’ keys in the order and see above display.

• Enter preset amount by observing display carefully.
• Remove nozzle if value, you see on display is true. Else, press ‘CLR’ and re-
enter correct value.
• Motor and solenoids starts automatically and delivery begins as you press nozzle
trigger.
• Delivery speed will be adjusted by CPU itself and stops at the exact value you
have entered.
2. ENTERING VOLUME PRESET :

Volume preset is entered by using numeric keys only.

Follow the procedure:

• Be sure that nozzle is in its place before entering preset.

• Press ‘Enter’ key twice and see ‘-L-‘ symbol on display.
• Use numeric keys for entering the integer part of volume preset as you wish.
Rational part of value is always .00.

-L- EXA

Press ‘Enter’,’Enter’,’1’,’2’,’5’ keys and see 125.00 on the middle part of display.

• Remove nozzle and start delivery.

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT PRESET DELIVERIES :

• Do not press ‘Enter’ after entering preset value and before removing nozzle.
• If you remove nozzle for the product that is not the one, your customer want,
then place that nozzle but re- enter preset before removing correct nozzle.(for
multiproduct dispensers)
• If you place nozzle, before the value you entered, this ignores preset and sale is
finished at the value you really delivered.
• Observe the display carefully when entering preset.(especially control the
number of zeros carefully)
• You can not change preset value after nozzle removing and also at any time of
delivery. Preset entering is not allowed while delivery is going on.
• If you enter a preset value and remove nozzle. But, if site controller sends an
amount preset message at the same time, then CPU makes a comparing between
two preset values and accepts the smaller one.

II. OBSERVING THE DELIVERY SPEED (as Lt/min):

You can observe the flowing rate of delivery if you press ‘1’, while display is counting.
Price screen will turn to show you the delivery speed as Lt/min.
Pressing ‘CLR’ key ignores this function and display turns to show price per liter again.
This function has no negative effect to volume or amount counter and arithmetic's of
current sale.

III. READING REAL-TIME CLOCK AND DATE:

Pressing key ‘5’, you will see real time clock and date as seen below. The date in the
example is 5’th July 2003 and time is 23:59. It is visible as continously pressing key.

Release key to return to main display.

05 07 2 0 0 3
23 59

IV. EMERGENCY STOP:

You can suddenly stop delivery if you press ‘Stop’ key. This may be necessary in some
accidental cases.

V. INCREASING DELIVERY SPEED TO MAXIMUM FLOW RATE:

This feature is valid only if the solenoid valve is proportional type. And also your
dispenser must be designed for high speed flow-rates of 90 lt/min or higher.

When you replace nozzle and press trigger, flow-rate starts at a speed of 5 lt/min and
increases to 40-45 lt/min even if your dispenser is designed to give 90 lt/min. Because, CPU
drives the proportional valve at a speed of 60% of maximum. This prevents the generation of
bubles for a small car tank and makes your flow speed control easy in free deliveries.

You can increase the speed of delivery to maximum level by pressing ‘High Flow’ key
on the keypad, while delivery is going on and display is counting delivery. At this time the
proportional valve will be opened to maximum.

At any time of maximum speed delivery, if you close trigger of nozzle, delivery stops
and a 1 sec timer counts. After one second in case of no-delivery, proportional valve turns to
minimum speed working. Again pressing the trigger, you will see first 5 lt/min delivery for a
definite volume of flow and increases to normal speed of 40-45 lt/min again.

PROGRAMS

Programs are used for entering or changing necessary parameters or reading some

parameters.

We investigate programs in three groups due to user authority.

I.PROGRAMS THAT NO AUTHORITY NECESSARY TO USE

These are for reading some data and parameters as shift totals or non resettable totals for
amount or volume, recalling the information about recently made deliveries etc.

ENTERING CPU ADDRESS ON THE AUTOMATION (P-080)

Communication between dispenser and site controller is half duplex type. This is a
question-answer relationship between CPU and Site controller.(central computer)
Site controller polls the necessary data from dispensers one by one by putting an address
byte in the question messages. So, only addressed CPU answers this message.

Thus, no data conflict occurs on communication line which is parallel connected to all
dispensers’ CPU comm..ports.
Addressing must be done carefully ,such that any two of Dispenser must not be at the
same address.

Procedure;

Press ‘0’, ‘8’, ‘0’ keys in order and see ‘P-080’ on the display.Press ‘Enter’ and see
display as shown below.
