Behringer TD-3 Pattern Writing Guide

(Programming the TD-3 in 3 (ish) easy steps)

Set TD-3 to Pattern Write mode:


Select PATTERN GROUP Knob to desired Group
Set MODE Knob to WRITE - PATTERN
Press and Hold Pattern button and press CLEAR to erase current pattern

Set number of Pattern Steps:


(This is optional, the TD-3 will default to 16 steps if this is skipped.)
Press and hold FUNCTION then press STEP button ‘n’ times, where n=number of steps. E.g., for 8 steps press STEP 8 times.

1. PITCH MODE (Input Notes)


Press keys to enter notes one at a time. The sequencer will advance one step for each press.

If no notes are input, all steps will be the left most C.

2. PITCH MODE (Transpose Notes set ACCENT/SLIDE)


Press WRITE/NEXT to advance sequencer one step at a time. The NOTE LEDs will show which note is currently assigned.
Hold WRITE/NEXT to change NOTE or press DOWN/UP to transpose the current NOTE or ACCENT/SLIDES to assign to the note.

Press PITCH MODE to reset the sequence to Step 1.

3. TIME MODE
Press STEP, TRIPLET or A to set sequencer steps as NOTES, TIES or RESTS
Use BACK to go back one step.
Sequencer will return to NORMAL MODE when NOTES, TIEs and RESTS have been assigned to all steps.

If no timing settings are input, the TD-3 will not make any sound when START/STOP is pressed.
