SPSS Download Information:

While Columbia University classes are taught online the SPSS software can be downloaded and run from
your computer off campus. VPN is not necessary. A valid UNI is needed to download the software.

Your computer must have an active internet connection while running the SPSS software.

Windows:

Mac:
https://www1.columbia.edu/sec/acis/software/SPSS_2020/download/SPSSSC_26_MAC_OS_ML.dmg

License Server: spring2020.cuit.columbia.edu

Windows:

1. Download the software and run the installer


2. Accept the license agreement
3. Select the default destination folder

4. After the install completes make sure “Start SPSS Statistics 26 License Authorization Wizard
now” is checked.
5. Once the Authorization wizards launches, select the 2nd option - Concurrent user license

6. The next window enter in the License Manager name:


a. spring2020.cuit.columbia.edu
Mac Instructions:

1. After clicking on the link to download, you will have to allow downloads from the website.

2. After the download completes the installer should run, if not click on the SPSS disk image that
mounts on the desktop and click on the installer.

3. Enter in you Mac user account password.


4. Click OK to start the install.
5. Click next and accept the two license agreements

6. Keep the default install location and click Next and then click Install on the next window.
7. When the installer finishes, make sure “Start SPSS Statistics 26 License Authorization Wizard
now” is checked.

8. Click Next, we will enter the license information in the next window.
9. Select the Concurrent user license option
10. On the next window enter in the license server address:
a. spring2020.cuit.columbia.edu
11. When you see this, SPSS is licensed on your Mac!
