Supply Chain of Ice-cream Companies :
Supply chain management, is basically a process of managing the raw materials from
manufacturing to the delivery of products to the customers. In this scenario, the new product ‘Ice-
cream' logistic model is to be discussed. The whole process consists of several factors including
how the ice-cream is made, ensure that all the products maintain the quality as the product comes
from manufacturing site to the distribution centre to the retailers and then to the consumers. Not
only the ingredients and flavouring; the cold chain management and the good sanitation system
are the main key factors of the ice-cream supply chain. The ice-cream supply chain should be very
managed actively and well equipped with quick delivery.
The overall ice-cream supply chain should be consisting of the following model:
A demand is generated from customers, they decide to purchase their desired product from the
specific company. The ice-cream company should manufacture the product as per the customer's
demand.
How much product should be manufacture this will be done by the planning department
by keeping the customers demand on focus?
The purchasing department may receive the raw material order and they will proceed as
per the demand of the production department.
Inventory management department check the quality and accuracy of the raw material
