Dear sir,

Application for the Manager in Training position

I am excited to apply for the Illovo Management Trainees (MITs) program. As a fresh university graduate
with a strong knowledge of agriculture and food production, processing, packaging, quality control and
checks, a genuine passion for learning on the job approach, I am eager to contribute my enthusiasm and
expertise in this program. I have always dreamt of working in such a capacity and this opportunity would
help me reach my career goals.

I am Dalitso Zembere by name and I am 23 years of age. I am a man that comes from Dedza district. I am
Dalitso Zembere aged 23 and male. I am fresh graduate of Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural
Resources (LUANAR). I have graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Food Technology with a strong
credit (cumulative GPA of 3.55) which I studied from October 2019 to June 2024 at Natural Resources
College (NRC). In addition, I hold an International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)
of the University of Cambridge in the UK which is an equivalent to the Malawi School Certificate of
Education (MSCE). I obtained this at Kamuzu Academy in 2018 under a government scholarship that ran
from 2013.

I have incredible knowledge of food processing and quality control including Pareto Charts and control
Charts. I have once been in charge of HACCP team at Thanthwe Farms Agro-processing factory during my
school attachments in 2022. The other role was to supervise the whole processing line of various products
including juices, jams and teas from hibiscus, ginger and other products. At the same time, giving training
in hygiene, safety and quality was among other things.

Leadership wise, while serving as the Academic Director of Natural Resources College (NRC) Student
Union, I engaged with diverse groups from the students and the administration in trying to resolve any
challenges between the two parties. In addition, to that I also served as the Regional Secretary for CCAPSO,
central region and here as well, I was exposed to working with a lot of people as the official spokesperson
where the biggest challenge and success at the same time was writing official letters for fundraising the
money for the annual regional conference and this covered food, accommodation and sound system for 150
people for 3 days. And I was able to hold these positions while I maintained my good grades. In this way I
believe I can be able to comfortably work with diverse groups of people.

My utmost interest is also in research surveys. I hold certificates of training in Research Data Collection
and Analysis by Nyasa Job Agency in 2022 and also another in Data Entry, Analysis and statistical packages
such as SPSS, STATA and ODK etc. by Leadership, Ethics & Integrity Centre (LEIC) obtained in 2023. I
am able to transcribe and analyze data collected and make relevant conclusions. I am a team player; very
hard working and I can also work under minimal supervision while delivering the desired results. I also
have proficient skills in computer applications such as Microsoft Office.

It is my sincere hope that these give me a sound background to this role and I am sure that you will consider
my application.
