22. A uniform magnetic field 𝐵 ⃗ is set up along the positive 𝑥 − 𝑎𝑥𝑖𝑠. A particle of charge ‘𝑞’ and mass
‘𝑚’ moving with a velocity 𝑣 enters the field at the origin in 𝑋 − 𝑌 plane such that it has velocity
components both along and perpendicular to the magnetic field 𝐵 ⃗ . Trace the trajectory followed
by the particle. Find the expression for the time taken to complete one rotation and distance moved
by the particle along the magnetic field in one rotation. (3)
23. Define mutual inductance between two long coaxial solenoids. Find out the expression for the
mutual inductance of inner solenoid of length 𝑙 having the radius 𝑟1 and the number of turns 𝑛1
per unit length due to the second outer solenoid of same length and 𝑛2 number of turns per unit

24. Using the given circuit diagram answer the following questions.
25. (a) A parallel plate capacitor, each with plate area A. and separation d, is charged to a potential
difference V. The battery used to charge it remains connected. A dielectric slab of thickness d and
dielectric constant k is now placed between the plates. What change, if any, will take place in (i)
charge on plates, (ii) electric field intensity between the plates and (iii) capacitance of the capacitor?
(b) You are given an air filled parallel plate capacitor 𝐶1 . The space between its plates is now filled with
slabs of dielectric constants 𝐾1 and 𝐾2 as shown in figure. Find the capacitance of the capacitor 𝐶2 in terms
of 𝐶1, 𝐾1 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐾2 if area of the plates is 𝐴 and distance between the plates is 𝑑.
26. (a)Explain briefly, with the help of a labelled diagram, the basic principle of the working of an a.c.
generator. In an a.c. generator, coil of N turns and area A is rotated at v revolutions per second in a
uniform magnetic field B. Write the expression for the emf produced.
(b) A 100 turn coil of area 0.1 m^2 rotates at half a revolution per second. It is placed in a magnetic
field 0.01 T perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the coil. Calculate the maximum voltage
generated in the coil. (5)
