● Water leak detection system.

It is a simple system that detects water leakage in any premises like data center, server room or
electrical room etc.

1. It is basically of two types: conventional and addressable.


2. The wire used inside the system is itself a sensing wire that detects or senses water
leakage when water droplets touches the surface of the wire.
In a conventional system, every zone has a separate hooter which sounds when that
particular zone's relay laches inside the panel.
3. It can also be integrated with a fire alarm panel by the use of a monitor module. The fire
alarm relay latches whenever a zone is activated.

4. Upon water leakage, the change in the resistance of the wire indicates the water leakage
to the WLD panel.

Addressable system:
1. It uses a four core wire for detection: normally the sensor integrity is monitored by the
four wire circuit continuously. If the wire comes in contact with water at any point then it
will change the path of current and tell the exact location to the panel.

2. The length of the sensing cable is 2 m/10 m/50 m. Male and female connectors are used
for extension and EOL connector is connected at termination.
3. The devices used include SIM module, branch connector, sensing wire and EOL
connector.
4. If there is only a single server room on one floor then we can simply connect it through a
wire. (We also use tagging in 'meter' at points on the wire to detect the exact water leak
point)

5. If there are two or three server rooms on a single floor then we use a branch connector.

6. If the area consists of several floors then we use the SIM module for connection.
Difference between WLD and Spot water detection.

● Auto Dialer.
It is a simple dialing system in which during programming, dialing numbers and recorded
messages are stored. Upon receiving a trigger from any other panel, it dials on the stored
numbers and plays the recorded message.
1. Some manufacturers provide provision for three numbers and some for five numbers.
2. It is of two types: GSM based that contains SIM cards and telephone line based that
works through EBPX system.
3. Generally, we integrate it with a fire alarm panel or intrusion alarm panel.
4. It normally works in a NC state and starts dialing when it receives a NO trigger from the
fire alarm panel. (It works similarly with the intrusion panel.)

Normal Operation

Fire alarm panel activated


Auto dialer should be in armed mode for normal operation, if it is in disarmed mode it won't work
even after receiving the trigger from the fire alarm panel.

Auto Dialer Programming.


The message should be recorded within 20 seconds.

Help should be dialed for storing the entered number. A beep will be heard providing
confirmation for the storage of the entered number.
Auto dialer should be in armed mode by pressing 1 2 3 4 5.
