Personal Development Plan
Personal Development Plan
I. Self-Reflection
Values: What are the most important principles guiding your life? Kindness and
open-heartedness have always been the guiding principles of my life. I believe that by
approaching life with empathy and compassion, I can cultivate a positive outlook and fill
my heart with joy and peace. My journey through the course "Understanding the Self"
has deepened my understanding of this principle. I've learned that to truly know
ourselves, we must also understand the world around us. I'm grateful to my teacher, Sir
Aj, for creating a safe and supportive learning environment where I could explore my
identity without fear of judgment. His kindness and guidance have inspired me to
embrace my individuality and to strive for personal growth. Through this course, I've
grown in self-awareness and self-acceptance. I've learned to appreciate my strengths
and weaknesses, and to embrace my unique qualities. I'm excited to continue this
journey of self-discovery and to apply these lessons to my life.
Strengths: What are you naturally good at? I’ve always loved writing. It’s a way for me to
express myself and connect with others. I’m proud of my writing skills, especially my novels.
They’re a reflection of my thoughts and feelings, my dreams and fears. I love the way words
can paint pictures in people’s minds and evoke strong emotions.
My “Understanding the Self” class has been a real eye-opener. It’s helped me understand
myself better, to appreciate my strengths and weaknesses. This newfound self-awareness has
improved my writing, making it more meaningful and authentic. I’m excited to see where my
writing journey takes me. I feel like I’m just starting to scratch the surface of my potential as a
writer.
Weaknesses: What areas would you like to improve in? A personal weakness I want
to improve on is my approach to solving my own problems, especially when they feel
overwhelming or complex. I have a tendency to push things aside, thinking I’ll handle
them later when I feel more prepared or have more clarity. But waiting often just
makes things feel heavier, and I end up feeling more stressed and less in control. I
realize that if I could get better at facing issues head-on maybe by breaking them
down into smaller, more manageable steps it would help me feel more capable and
confident. Taking things step by step, instead of seeing them as one big hurdle, could
make tackling these personal challenges feel more achievable. This approach would
also help me build resilience and keep me from feeling stuck. By working on this, I’d
be able to handle my own problems in a way that feels more proactive and less
stressful, allowing me to focus more on growth and move forward in a healthier way.
● Interests: What are you passionate about? I’m really passionate about singing. It’s
something that makes me genuinely happy and lets me express myself in ways I can’t always
do with just words. There’s something special about connecting with a song, whether it’s
upbeat or emotional, and singing helps me relax and feel more in tune with my emotions. It
also boosts my confidence, especially when I can tackle a challenging note or add my own
style to a song. I’m always trying to get better, whether it’s practicing on my own, trying
different styles, or learning from other singers. For me, singing is more than just a hobby—it’s
something I look forward to and a way to connect with myself and others.
I am passionate about singing, I don’t think that I am good at it but it interests me because
through singing it helps me release stress and fixes my emotional problem. Through singing,
my inner self heals and my subject UNDERSTANDING THE SELF helped to realized my
potential and make me understand that everything I achieved in this day is already an
achievement.
II. Goal Setting
My leadership skills I guess. I am not that confident to be a leader cause I sometimes rely on
people and not trust in myself. I don’t trust my decisions because I am afraid of criticism and
I sometimes misunderstood the advices of some individuals and I often see it as judgement.
It’s my nursing course, of course!!! My goal is to finish school in 3 years and support my
siblings in their studies too. I also want my mom to be in the Philippines again because I
really miss her a lot. She worked so hard in order to provide and sustain our daily needs.
I will focus on my studies more and prioritize my goals which is to become a nurse
someday. I want my family to be proud of me.
To keep track of my progress toward my goals, I'll use a few simple, hands-on methods.
First, I'll keep a journal where I can write down each step I take and any achievements
along the way. This will help me see how far I've come and remind me of what I still need to
do. I’ll set aside a little time each week to review my notes, which will let me celebrate wins
and make adjustments where needed.

In addition to my journal, I’ll create a checklist for any specific tasks that build up toward the
goal, checking them off as I go. That way, I can see my progress at a glance and stay
motivated. Each time I check off a task, it will give me a sense of accomplishment and
encourage me to keep going.
Furthermore, I plan to reflect on my overall feelings and any obstacles I face. This reflection
is crucial because it allows me to stay focused on what’s working and learn from any
setbacks. By understanding my emotions and challenges, I can adapt my approach as
needed.
This method of tracking progress is simple, yet it keeps things clear and manageable. By
combining journaling, checklists, and reflection, I’ll have a comprehensive view of my
journey toward my goals. This will not only help me stay organized but also provide the
motivation I need to push through any difficulties I encounter along the way. Overall, my
approach will allow me to celebrate my successes, learn from my experiences, and
continuously adapt to ensure I’m moving in the right direction.
I'll also use a checklist for any specific tasks that build up toward the goal, checking

Finally, I'll reflect on my overall feelings and any obstacles I face, so I stay focused
on what’s working and learn from any setbacks. This approach is simple, but it
keeps things clear and manageable.
V. Conclusion
Creating this Personal Development Plan (PDP) was a valuable opportunity to reflect on
where I am, where I want to be, and how I plan to bridge that gap. Through this process, I
identified specific areas I want to improve, set clear and achievable goals, and laid out
actionable steps to get there. This PDP will be my roadmap, keeping me on track,
accountable, and focused on my growth.
By following this plan, I have a clearer sense of purpose and direction. It’s not just about
reaching goals but also about building habits that push me toward continuous
self-improvement. I’m committed to staying open to feedback, learning along the way, and
adapting as I grow. My aim is not only to meet my goals but to foster a mindset that thrives
on progress and personal growth.
