PART 2 – RATIONALE (approx. 1000 words)

In this part, you need to demonstrate a thorough and comprehensive understanding of

relevant theoretical issues and draw connections between these and the design of your lesson.
For example, you may

- justify your choice of approach/method/procedure to help the learners achieve the

objectives of the lesson.

- explain how the design and the sequence of the activities in the lesson reflects the approach
and method you choose.

- show how the teaching materials have been adapted (if necessary) and designed to meet the
learners’ needs.

The components of the lesson plan should relate to the theories and class discussions on the
key topics covered in this course.

PART 3 – REFLECTION (approx. 500 words)

As this part concerns your thought, your reflection describes your learning experience in the
whole process of lesson planning.

Note that you may microteach the activities in groups for peer observation and for comments
from peers and teacher. You will have an opportunity to try the activities within a group
(optional) for their observation and comments. After the trial teaching, you should improve
the activities in accordance with the experience gained and your peers’ comments for a
revised lesson plan in which you mention what changes you have made and what lesson you
have learned from your peers.
