IF THERE IS DELAY IN TRANSFUSION: Do not attach transfusion set and Restore blood bag in blood bank within 30 minutes

SUSPECTED TRANSFUSION REACTION: Sign &Symptoms that may accompany Transfusion Reaction
Fever >20 F, Chills, Chest pain, Hypo-tension, Nausea, Flushing, Dyspnea, Hemoglobinurea, Back pain, Pain at infusion site.

IF ONE OR MORE OF THE ABOVE OCCURS:


1-Stop transfusion, keep vain open with slow saline drip 2-Notify blood bank and attending doctor immediately 3-Submit to blood bank
(a) Blood bag and attached infusion line (b) Blood and urine sample immediately post transfusion (c) Reaction report filled by doctor
4-Five hours later submit second urine sample.
