 FOREWORD
The Department of Commerce takes great pride in its
annual intercollegiate commerce festival 'Commercium'
which kindles holistic development of students through
its activities based on themes of innovation, research,
social outreach and management skills. We started our
activities back in 1998 driven by college's philosophy
'Education for all' and guided by the college motto
'Explore, Experience and Excel'.

Since then, we have consistently progressed through

our skill enhancing activities, thereby nurturing
students to make them industry ready. We have been
graced with esteemed guests like former Indian cricket
player, Shri Madhav Mantri and Mr. Sandeep Bakshi, MD
and CEO of ICICI Bank to inaugurate our events held in
2011-2013. We are also proud to receive sponsorships
from Saraswat Bank and the Central Bank of India. It
was a proud moment for 'Ruia Commercium' team to host
the legendary football dance competition held by
Manchester United in which international players
participated and mesmerised everyone with their
impressive, striking and incredible performance.

Commercium provides a proficient environment that

builds competence among students to contribute to
society.

Year after year, we have been striving to excel and
upgrade our activities through strenuous planning of
events so as to offer enriching experience for
participants.

With that being said, I urge everyone to join us for

the events and challenge themselves to get a head start
and explore their potential.

 About
COMMERCIUM
Commercium is a platform for nurturing students’
organizing, competitive, and leadership abilities.
Department activities focus on events and competitions
related to Marketing, Finance, Business, Start-ups,
etc., relevant to business/social scenarios. The annual
fest was established in 1998- 1999 to focus on the
overall development of students of commerce. The
activities aim to enhance students' personalities and
provide a platform to learn team management skills,
instill and augment Leadership, Communication, and
Management skills, and sensitize them to social issues.
From Ruia Commerce Association in 1998 to Comsense in
2009 and then to Commercium in 2011, the departmental
activities and festivals have traveled 25 years. The
annual festival ‘COMMERCIUM’ is mainly directed to
conduct various competitions under its banner.

"Vikasit Bharat," or "Developed India,"
encapsulates the nation's journey of resilience
and growth amid numerous challenges. From colonial
subjugation to economic hardships, India has
emerged as a global powerhouse through relentless
perseverance and innovation. The nation's strides
in technology, infrastructure, education, and
healthcare reflect a commitment to progress and
inclusivity. With a vibrant democracy and a rich
cultural heritage, India continues to transform
adversities into opportunities, propelling itself
toward a future of sustainable development and
prosperity for all its citizens.

Through a blend of traditional wisdom and modern

innovation, India is propelling itself toward a
future characterized by sustainable development,
economic prosperity, and social equity. This
ongoing journey towards "Vikasit Bharat" not only
aims to uplift the nation but also aspires to make
a significant impact on the global stage,
showcasing India's potential to be a leader in
fostering a balanced and progressive world.

Join us for an innovative event where participants will develop a business plan
aligned with one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established
by the United Nations. This event aims to foster creative solutions that contribute
to sustainable development.

BUSINESS PLAN SUBMISSION:

Submission Deadline: A week before the event
Format: PowerPoint Presentation (PPT)

BUSINESS PLAN REQUIREMENTS:

Slides: Slides: Maximum 15, including title and thank you slides

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES:
Duration: 10 minutes presentation, 5 minutes Q&A
Judging Criteria: Relevance to SDG, Innovation, Feasibility, Financial Plan
(optional), Presentation quality

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

Team Size: 1-5 people
Original Work: Must be created by the team. Plagiarism results in
disqualification.
Presentation Tools: Any visual aids or props must be prepared and brought
by the team.
Technology: Ensure compatibility with standard presentation software;
technical assistance will be available on the event day

Eligibility Criteria: 11th grade students and above

Participants can be in teams of 5 (maximum) or do the work individually

RUIA STOCK EXCHANGE
(RSE)
This event will simulate real-life market fluctuations, requiring participants to
make investment decisions based on provided information about stock sales,
past company profits, and various market phases. Participants will use this data
to strategize and invest, with the goal of maximizing their profits.

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

Company Briefing: Participants will receive detailed information about the
companies one day prior to the event, allowing them to plan their investment
strategies accordingly.
Market Situations: On the day of the event, different market phases and
situations will be introduced.
Decision Submission: Participants must submit their investment decisions
on time.
Market Chart: A continuously updated market chart will be displayed in the
classroom, reflecting the ongoing market conditions.

At the end of the event, the decisions and market performance will be reviewed,
and the winner will be determined based on the profits and losses incurred by
each participant.

Eligibility Criteria: 11th grade students and above

Participants may or may not work in pairs.

the trade sim
The event will start with a detailed explanation of the game rules for all
participants and judges. Once the game begins, participants will be divided into
teams of two and quizzed on the latest trade and commercial developments in
India. This will be followed by a rapid-fire round, where the first team to hit the
buzzer gets the opportunity to answer the question. Teams will earn points for
each correct answer, with no penalties for incorrect responses. The entire task is
to be completed within half an hour.

Two Commercium volunteers will act as stenographers, recording the scores

throughout the quiz.

Then, participants will draw two chits: one from a bowl containing the names of
countries and another specifying the goal each country/participant must
achieve by the end of the import and export process. Participants will then
calculate their "earnings" by multiplying the number of questions correctly
answered by the INR rate of the currency of the selected country.

Next, the import and export phase will begin. Participants will negotiate prices
and goods to achieve their designated goals within the given time frame and
budget. The participant who successfully meets their goal will be declared the
winner.

Participants may or may not work in pairs.

Participants will be presented with various company-related scenarios. Each
scenario will require the participants to evaluate the situation and choose the
best possible alternative as a director. This will test their leadership qualities,
including problem-solving, critical thinking, and strategic decision-making. The
event aims to identify and reward individuals who demonstrate exceptional
leadership potential. Participants are allowed to participate individually or in
pairs.
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
Participants should consider all relevant factors and potential consequences
before making a decision.
Decisions should be supported by logical reasoning and relevant data, where
applicable.
Participants must demonstrate an understanding of ethical implications in
their decision-making process.
Decisions made by the event organizers regarding participant performance
and rankings are final.
Participants are forbidden to use their cellphones or any digital device to
form their answers.

Eligibility Criteria: 11th grade students and above

Participants may or may not work in pairs.

TIMING: 1:30p.m. to 3:30p.m.
