Introduction

Goal
Welcome to the RC Car Competition organized by SAE India at Gati Shakti
Vishwavidyalaya We are thrilled to host this exciting event that brings together the
brightest minds in engineering and technology. This competition is not just a test of
speed and agility; it is a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in
the world of automotive engineering.

In today’s fast-paced technological landscape, understanding the principles of

design, mechanics, and electronics is crucial for aspiring engineers. The RC Car
Competition serves as a platform for students to apply theoretical knowledge in a
practical setting, fostering innovation and creativity. Participants will have the chance
to design, build, and race their own remote-controlled cars, pushing the boundaries
of their engineering skills.

This competition emphasizes a competitive approach, encouraging teams to

collaborate, strategize, and learn from one another. It is a chance to showcase your
technical prowess, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork in a fun and engaging
environment. Whether you are a seasoned participant or a newcomer, this event
promises to be an enriching experience that will enhance your understanding of
automotive systems and engineering principles.
Join us as we celebrate ingenuity, passion, and the spirit of competition. We look
forward to witnessing the incredible designs and performances that will emerge from
this event. Let the race begin!

1. Design Specifications

• Dimensions: [ length, width, height] ~ [ 30 cm, 30 cm, 20 cm] ± 5 %

• Weight: The total weight of the car must not exceed 3kg
• Wheel Size: Wheels must be within the specified diameter range of [7 cm to 15
cm].a
• Type of vehicle: offroad

2. Power Source

• Battery Type: all types of batteries are permitted.

• Voltage Limit: The maximum voltage of the battery must not exceed [18.5V]
±5%.
• Safety: All batteries must be securely mounted and protected to prevent damage
during the race.
• Traction power: the theoretical motor output power combined must be less than
1 hp [ 735 watts] ± 5%

3. Control System

• Remote Control: All kinds of remote-control systems are allowed, provided they
do not exceed the price limit of 5000 Rs for the module.
• Range: The control system must have a minimum operational range of [50
meters].

4. Materials

• Allowed Materials: Participants may use materials such as plastic, metal, and
wood for the chassis and body under weight limit.

• Prohibited Materials: The use of hazardous materials or substances posing

safety risks is strictly prohibited.

5. Modifications

• Custom Parts: Participants are allowed to create custom parts, but they must
adhere to the overall design specifications.
• Pre-built Components: Pre-built components (e.g., motors, servos) may be
used, but modifications to these components must be clearly documented.

6. Safety Regulations

• Safety Gear: Participants must wear appropriate safety gear during the
competition [ e.g., gloves, goggles].
• Inspection: All cars will undergo a safety inspection before the race. Non-
compliant cars will be disqualified.

7. Competition Format

• Race Format: The competition will consist of three phases, in Phase 1, your
idea and concept will be judged; in Phase 2, the readiness and validation of the
concept design must be demonstrated; in the final phase, you will compete
against the other participants in the arena.
• Scoring: Points will be awarded based on [e.g. performance, efficiency, speed,
design, innovation].

8. Team Composition

• Team Size: Each team may consist of 2 to 4 members.

• Roles: Teams should assign roles designer, builder, driver to ensure effective
collaboration.
• driver: At the final completion there should be a single driver no swap is allowed

9. Conduct

• Sportsmanship: All participants are expected to demonstrate good

sportsmanship and respect towards other teams.
• Disqualification: Any form of cheating or unsportsmanlike conduct may result in
disqualification from the competition.
