Is it really so simple? Just enter the IED TCP/IP address?

Where are the other settings for subnet-mask etc?

They are in Windows:

Control Panel / Network Connection / LAN / TCP/IP / Properties

What about if you need to have a different subnet mask or if you

cannot give a fixed TCP/IP address to your PC?
A solution is to use 2 network cards in the same PC.

 PCM 600 Comparision with CAP 540, what’s better ?

+ Front communication via Ethernet RJ-45 and not via optical interface
Standard cables can be used
+ CAP531: Downloading time
In REx 670 it takes 4 minutes to fully download a configuration from CAP531.
Compared to the 12 minutes in the 500 series it is an improvement.
+ PCM600: The wizard
It’s easy to create a new IED containing full functionality of the acquired IED. The
wizard drives you step by step, you have only to answer some questions and provide
some files.
+ PCM600: Signal Matrix Tool (SMT)
Using SMT for routing binary inputs and binary outputs is advantageous. It
is not necessary to modify the CAP531 configuration to re-route the
Input/Output signals. SMT can be used in a very simple way.
+ PCM600: Uploading time of a disturbance

+ Disturbance Reporter
Fast and automatic report of disturbance. The User still have the “freedom
of the technician” by designing his own reports or by opening the
disturbance file with other viewers (REVAL, WINEVE etc.)

+ Possibility to integrate third parts IED in the structure

It requires a certain degree of engineering based on IEC 61850 standard
but it should be possible to integrate –at least partially- other third party
IEDs in a PCM600 structure. This was not possible at all with CAP540.

+ Swedish and Finnish products in one tool

By installing Connectivity Packages from Finland and Sweden it is possible
to manage all the products with one tool.
