Phecda Laser Engraver & Cutter Firmware Upgrade Guide

Precautions
1. To update the firmware, the engraving machine needs to be turned on,
otherwise MKSLaserTool cannot detect the port.
2. When updating the touchscreen firmware, you need to prepare a USB Type-C
data cable.
3. Please close other software when updating the firmware to avoid the port being
occupied and MKSLaserTool cannot detect the port.
4. You can close the MKSLaserTool software only after it shows that the
touchscreen update is successful.
5. After the update is completed, restart the engraving machine.
6. It takes about one minute to update the firmware of the touch screen, and about
two minutes to update the mainboard firmware.

touchscreen firmware. Use MKSLaserTool
software to update, open MKSLaserTool,
change FLASH SIZE to 4MB, and then click Start
to update. Please refer to the following for

Update Touchscreen Firmware

1. Connect the touchscreen motherboard and computer with a USB Type-C data
cable, and turn on the power supply of the machine.

2. Run MKSLaserTool (if you cannot operate after opening, please close the software,
then right-click the software to run as an administrator), enter the first option MKS
ESP32 Download Tool, change the FLASH SIZE to 4MB, select the touchscreen
firmware to start updating, reconnect the engraving machine and computer after
updating.

motherboard firmware to start updating. After the update finishing, reconnect the
engraving machine to the computer.

FAQ

1. Garbled code error occurs during the update?


If the data cable is not connected properly, check the connection of the data cable or
reconnect it again.

2. Can't read SD card and can't control engraving machine after the update is
complete?
When updating the motherboard firmware, the touchscreen firmware is used, just
re-update the correct motherboard firmware again.

3. The touchscreen does not light up after the update is complete?


When updating the touchscreen firmware, the motherboard firmware is used, just
re-update the correct touchscreen firmware.

4. Unable to read the port when using MKSLaserTool to update the firmware?
If the port is occupied by other software, please close other software; or if the data
cable is not connected correctly, please check the connection of the data cable or
reconnect it again.

5. Report an error when starting the update?


If the FLASH SIZE is selected incorrectly, the touchscreen firmware should be changed
to 4MB, and the motherboard firmware should be changed to 8MB. After changing
to the correct FLASH SIZE, re-update the firmware again.
