S.Y. 2024 - 2025

NAME: Hazzelle Erich B. De Asis GR. & SEC: 9C

MODULE 1 TOPIC 4: CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING AND

SHARING

ACTIVITY 4:

Instructions:
1. Cultural Research:
o Choose an aspect of our own culture. You can explore topics such as:
 Traditions (e.g., festivals, ceremonies)
 Holidays (e.g., how they are celebrated, significance)
 Foods (e.g., traditional dishes, cooking methods)
 Values (e.g., family roles, community practices)
2. Prepare Presentations:
o On a large sheet of paper, write your findings.
3. Reflection Questions:
o Answer the following questions:
 What was one new thing you learned about our culture
that you were not familiar with?
One thing that I have learned is that Christmas traditions can vary significantly around the world. For
example, in some other cultures, Christmas gifts are exchanged on Christmas Eve instead of Christmas
Day, and different countries have unique foods and celebrations tied to the holiday.
 How do you think cultural understanding contributes to
respect and collaboration in diverse environments?
For me, I think that the cultural understanding helps to reduce the misunderstandings and promotes
empathy towards each other. Allowing individuals to respect differences and communicate more
effectively, fostering collaboration in varying environments by valuing each other's backgrounds
perspectives

 Can you share a personal experience where

understanding someone else's culture helped you in a
social or collaborative setting?
One Christmas, I called my friend from different cultural backgrounds. I learned that in their traditions,
Christmas Eve was the main celebration, with family gatherings and gift exchanges taking place then,
rather than on Christmas Day like I was used to. Understanding this made me more mindful of their
practices, and enjoyable celebrations
