belongs to set {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}. Let A be the set of players and B be the set of all
possible outcomes.

Based on the above information answer the following:


(i) Sara wants to know the number of non-empty relations possible from A to B. Find the
number of such relations possible?
(ii) Find the number of surjections possible from B to A?
(iii) If the relation R in the set B defined by R = {( , y): y is divisible by } .Verify whether
R is an equivalence relation or not.

38. Case – Study 3:
One afternoon Mr.Vikrant and his daughter Tanya decided to play something new. The
rule of the game is decided as follows-:
Suppose Tanya throws a dice and if she gets 5 or 6, she tosses a coin 3 times and notes
the number of heads .If she gets 1, 2, 3 or 4, she tosses a coin once and notes whether a
head or tail is obtained .

Based on the above information answer the following:


(i) Find the Probability of getting exactly one head.
(ii)If she got exactly one head, find the probability that she threw 1,2 ,3 or 4 with the die.
