Condition (details in the text)
Degree (quickly)

→ set rules
→ assign group work and rewarding system → urging group responsibility
- some students struggle with word stress

Stages
1. Pre-plan = aims, levels, length, class profile, materials, anticipated problems & solutions
--> minimum

2. Procedure
PRE-PLAN

1. Aim: Students are able to pronounce and write names of animals, and make sentences about the
habits of animals using the structure “like + V-ing” (e.g, The panda likes eating bamboos)

By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

- quickly recognize the names of the animals
- accurately memorize how to pronounce and write the names of the animals
- describe the basic habits of the animals using the structure “like + V-ing”

2. Level: A2
3. Duration: 45 minutes
4. Class profile: 10 students aged 10 - 13 whose mother tongue is Vietnamese
5. Anticipated problems & solutions
- Linguistic
+ Some students may know some animals beforehand, thus finding the lesson uninteresting
→ Ask them challenging questions (e.g, Can you describe the tiger?, Have you met them before?)

+ Some students keep mispronouncing several times

→ Correct them politely
→ Assign group work and a pronunciation competition: Have students with good pronunciation lead
the group and urge their friends to pronounce correctly to win the competition

- Organizational
+ Some students are absent from class, making hard to distribute an even number of students for
group tasks
→ Assigning an outstanding student to be assistant/judge

- Individual
+ Some students are talkative and naughty
→ Set clear rules at the beginning of the class
→ Assign them to be assistant to keep them busy and focused
+ Some students are not willing to participate in the class
→ Set class rules and rewards for participation
→ Organize discussion, presentation
→ Have a private talk with students and/or parents
