MAINS ANSWER WRITING

● You can add a small diagram after the introduction. You can put factual details in this diagram adn
put that between 2 horizontal lines.
● Write in points wherever you have enough content- more points give a good impression (See
Yaksh Chaudhary sir’s copies)
● Use diagrams. Diagrams break the monotony in the answers. You have to practice diagrams
before the mains exam otherwise you won’t be able to make them in the exam
● Use maps wherever it’s needed.
● Pre conclusion: Give govt. schemes, way forward or some other new dimension before
concluding. These should be written even if they are not asked in the question. It would make
your answer unique from others.
● Try to conclude each and every question. Do not miss the conclusion otherwise your answer
would look open.
● Try to fill all the pages of the answer sheet. It works very well to fetch marks. I have tried and
tested it.
● All the content of your answer must be relevant to what is asked. Do not digress!
● Data, and reports should be used to substantiate your arguments.
● Do not try to make your answer complex. Simplicity would fetch you more marks. Try to avoid
heavy jargons and complex keywords.
● Collect data, Supreme Court judgments and reports etc. for mentioning in the answers.
● Devote equal time to all the questions even if you don’t know. Writing equal content in all the
questions would give an impression of uniformity in your answer copy.
● Give multiple dimensions in the answer if questions are open-ended. Economic, political,
international, and societal dimensions can be used.
● Kuch bhi point likho to bracket mein add SC case/ Data/ Articles.... These things fetch that extra 1
mark/question
● Importance of test series for mains:
○ Practice whatever structure you have planned to use in actual mains exam. Practice
diagrams also.
○ Generate the temperament to complete paper within the stipulated time.
○ Test your speed, pen, size of your writing etc.
● Don't number points in romans/ alphabets. Number likho (1. 2. 3. type)
● DATA RICH ANSWERS LIKHO
● SCi/Tech questions - Write crisp objective answers

● Apne notes ab jab bhi revise karo to add stats/case/art....... there itself. Jaise prelims notes
mein linkages banate the waise hi. jo yaad aaye revision time add that there itself.

● Points must be in decreasing order of priority


○ REMEMBER THIS- BEST POINT FIRST
● Open dimag se test do. Syllabus wale shackles se niklo. Think of entire 1/2/3 years of prep
● jitna hai content usko use karo. agar use nahin kiya to it doesnt matter.
○ Eg- Parliament ke intro mein mention Art 79 and other relevant articles.
