Q36 On his birthday, Manoj planned that this time he celebrates 4
his birthday in a small orphanage centre. He bought apples (2+1+1)
to give to children and adults working there. Manoj donated
2 apples to each child and 3 apples to each adult working
there along with Birthday cake. He distributed 60 total
apples.

(i) How to represent the above situation in linear equations
in two variables by taking the number of children as ‘x’ and
the number of adults as ‘y’?
(ii) If the number of children is 15, then find the number of
adults?
(iii) Write y – x = 5 in the standard form of linear equations
in two variables.
Q37 Practical knowledge is very useful for student to grow in his 4
carrier. To improve the practical knowledge and awareness (1+1+2)
about social life directorate of education announces a visit in
a AVBIL. Girls are asked to prepare a rangoli in triangular
shape as shown in figure.

Dimension of rangoli (∆ABC) are AB=24cm, BC = 32cm and


AC= 28cm. Garland is to be placed along the side of ∆PQR,
which is formed by joining the mid-points of sides of ∆ABC.
Some questions are arises about the above situation, answer
the following questions
(i) Find the length of RQ.
(ii) Find the length of garland.
(iii)Show that all the four triangles so formed are congruent
to each other.
Q38 Ankit visited in a mall with his father. He sees that three 4
shops are situated at P, Q, R as shown in the figure from (1+1+2)
where they have to purchase things according to their need.
Distance between shop P and Q is 8 m, that of between shop
Q and R is 10 m and between shop P and R is 6 m.
