Course Subject: Entrepreneurial Mind

(Activity Title: Innovation Challenge: Problem Solving for a Better Future)

(Objective:)
To encourage students to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to real-world
problems, while collaborating in teams.)

(Activity Outline:)

I. Problem Identification
Food waste is a pressing issue in households, leading to significant
environmental and economic consequences. Many families struggle with
managing perishable items, often discarding food that spoils before it can be
consumed. Common challenges include a lack of awareness about proper food
storage techniques, busy lifestyles that make meal planning difficult, and limited
access to effective food preservation tools. By addressing these challenges, we
can improve food management practices in households, leading to a more
sustainable and resourceful community.

II. Research and Ideation

 Research the problem you've identified. You can explore existing solutions and think of
ways to improve them or create something new.
 Have many ideas as possible and write them down, without judging feasibility initially.

III. Concept Development

 Narrow down your ideas to one innovative solution. Focus on feasibility, impact, and
creativity.
 Students should outline their concept clearly, detailing:
o What the solution is
o How it solves the identified problem
o The benefits to the users/community
o Challenges you might face in development

IV. Prototype Creation

 Create a simple prototype or visual representation of your solution. This could be a
model, drawing, or digital prototype.
 Be resourceful in making a prototype

V. Reflection and Conclusion

 Students must reflect on the innovation process:
o What challenges did you face in coming up with ideas?
o How did you overcome those challenges?
 Think about how you can apply these innovative thinking skills in everyday life or future
projects.
