trader, will only reject the shirts which have major defect. One shirt is drawn at random

i) Jimmy? ii) Sujata?
15. A lot consists of 144 ball pens of which 20 are defective and the others are good. Nuri will
buy a pen if it is good, but will not buy if it is defective. The shopkeeper draws one pen at
random and gives it to her. What is the probability that
i) she will buy it? ii) she will not buy it?

A box contains 90 discs, which are numbered from 1 to 90. If one disc is drawn at random
from the box, find the probability that it bears
i) a two-digit number.
ii) a perfect square number.
iii) a number divisible by 5.

16. A game consists of tossing a one rupee coin 3 times and noting its outcome each time.
Hanif wins, if all the tosses give the same result, i.e., three heads or three tails and losses
otherwise. Calculate the probability that Hanif will lose the game.

Read the following passage and answer the questions.
Tushara took a pack of 52 cards. She kept aside all the black face cards and shuffled the
remaining cards well.

Based on the above information, answer the following questions :


i) Write the number of total possible outcomes.
ii) She draws a card from the well-shuffled pack of remaining cards. What is the probability
that the card is a face card?
iii) Write the probability of drawing a black card.
OR
What is the probability of getting neither a black card nor an ace card?

the music at any time within 2 min after she starts playing. What is the probability that the

16. A lot consists of 48 mobile phones of which 42 are good, 3 have only minor defect and 3
have major defect. Varnika will buy a phone, if it is good but the trader will only buy a
mobile, if it has no major defect. One phone is selected at random from the lot. What is
the probability that it is

18. “Eight Ball” is a game played on a pool table with 15 balls numbered from 1 to 15 and a
“cue ball” that is solid and white. Out of the 15 balls, eight are solid (non-white) coloured
and numbered from 1 to 8 and seven are striped balls numbered from 9 to 15.

The 15 numbered pool balls (no cue ball) are placed in a large bowl and mixed, then one
ball is drawn out at random.

Based on the above information, answer the following questions :
