• Windows 11 – 64 bit

Apple MacOS
• Catalina 10.15.x (No longer officially supported by Apple)
• Big Sur 11.x (No longer officially supported by Apple)

• Sonoma 14.x (supported as of MT 48 Toolkit 1.6.2)

Apple Processors Supported

• Intel
• Apple Silicon M1 & M2 & M3

2
Known Issues
• The Monitor Mission inputs can be recorded over AoIP/AES67 using ANEMAN for streams
connectivity along with the Merging VAD (macOS) or Merging MAD (Windows OS) drivers.
Procedure are documented on the Merging Knowledge Base.
• Recording over USB Data should be performed using the Music Mission as the Monitor
Mission USB inputs can only be recorded by using the Advanced Pages IO Router page.
The USB recording with the Monitor Mission is planned in the next version (post 1.6.2 >).
Note: The 6 x Monitor Mission Presets allow for recording over USB.
• Cannot have simultaneous USB Data connectivity and RAVENNA/AES67 connectivity on
the same system unless being on different Subnet. Not recommended as by default this
could generate a conflict between your network IP Subnet and the USB Network in use
with the MT 48. If required for Remote Control with by example a tablet this is supported
onto a different network (e.g. Home) the documented guidelines should be followed.
• For AES67 and RAVENNA specific workflows, it is recommended to disable the DAW's
under Settings>USB IO to avoid an auto USB reconnection.
• MacOS: Changing the Safe Mode parameters under the MT 48 Agent preferences might
require a second reboot to be applied (macOS issue).
• KH Network Monitors non-AES67 must be connected to a gigabit switch for proper
detection if used via the MT 48 AES67 Network Port to USB.

3
• New Custom start up image support (as of firmware 1.5.1 and above)
A new custom can be displayed when starting the MT 48, the image must follow some
specifications. The image can be uploaded from the MT 48 Web App browser page
under Settings>Info by selecting “Upload Startup Image” entry line.

Image Specifications:
o Supports PNG files only
o Image dimension should be 800x480 (the image will be scaled if needed)
o Image size must be smaller than < 2 MB

The upload of the image can take up to 15 secs to load. If the upload fails, the browser
will display page 404 or 403 error. Please make sure you’ve respected the ratio and file
format mentioned above.
Restart the MT 48 once the upload is completed.
Notes: Users can revert to the original image by selecting “Reset Startup Image”.

Troubleshooting

Audio noise via USB Data

• Make sure you are running the latest MT 48 Toolkit and Firmware
• Multiple USB hubs or poor-quality ones can cause audio noise and degradation.
It is recommended to use only a single USB Hub and not daisy chain multiple ones.
• Verify USB cabling should not be over 4 meters and should be USB Data cables. We
recommend using the USB cables shipped with the MT 48.
• PC: Verify the System DPC Latency using tools such as the DPC Latency Mon
https://www.resplendence.com/latencymon
• Try with higher Latency values. Verify the latency within the MT 48, under
Settings>General>Latency and increase this one. You can as well increase the Latency on
the Driver (PC) side or DAW side.
• Note that the MT 48 supports 32 inputs and 16 outputs. It remains possible that this is
more demanding than a previous interface that supported less USB I/O. Please verify the
USB I/O support of your previous configuration.
• USB Data cable and AES67 AoIP should not be on same subnet. Please verify the IP
configuration and use Manual IP when needed.

4
• macOS users with glitches try the following:
o Increase the Buffer size of the application
o From the Audio MIDI setup select a lower channel count on the Inputs
o From the Application folder launch the Neumann MT 48 application and on the
menu open Preferences. By default, Safe mode is disabled, resulting in lower
IO latencies. If you have glitches, enable Safe mode and restart the system.
• If macOS remotes do not open properly or drivers are misbehaving make sure you empty
the macOS trashcan, this can prevent recycling redirection.
